Quelza at Coda I Ratherlost x Pax-Romana ADE 2024

@philippapacho is like a musical Swiss knife: she has exactly the right tool for every occasion, from warm-ups to peak time to wonky afters. It was a long residency at Under Bron in her native Stockholm that equipped her with those skills, and since moving to Berlin, she's gone on to make her mark across Europe playing all forms of techno. Late last year, Pacho launched her own label Phorum Records as a further extension of her sound, and she also curates tracks and parties under the Positive Source banner.

This August, Pacho joins us at Amsterdamse Bos for Dekmantel 2025 but first serves up this deeply cerebral trip into Millsian techno. It's a high-speed selection of sleek and synth-laced sounds rich in narrative, be that mind-melting urgency, more dark and moody undercurrents or a sense of cosmic unknown. Utterly timeless and effortless classic, this is techno in its most futuristic form.

Barbosa delivers dark club techno with house undertones in Murder on the Dancefloor, a track inspired by the now closed but revered energy of Toronto’s legendary Guvernment nightclub. Built on eerie atmospheres, groovy basslines, and vocal samples that hint at a deeper message, it’s designed as a DJ tool to move bodies and ignite the floor.

Asked by someone on the Canadian Music board to submit a techno track for their new underground dance category, Barbosa didn't feel that his music fit because he produces tools used to mix and craft DJ performances. To stay true to his intent, Barbosa wrote a song that addresses the excessive drug usage we see today, and to remind people that all you need is to focus on the music and give off killer dance moves to connect with each other.

The package is rounded out by Dog on Acid’s smooth, jazzy remix, offering a unique contrast for late-night warehouse sets and after-hours playlists.

Half of boundary-pushing production outfit Voices From The Lake and co-founder of Spazio Disponibile, Neel is an Italian producer with a keen ear for complex, enveloping sonics; his ample, elegant pieces of music sitting right at the junction of beatless abstraction and intricate webs of electronic pulsations. Boasting his works’ most dynamic side, Neel’s debut transmission on RYC ushers us into a smouldering pit of molten steel and glassy membranes. Playing with echoes and latency as he builds his own multi-sensory experience out of eclectic fragments, Neel transports us to a zone where movement and inertia rule in concerted harmony, and your suddenly weightless body feels eventually free from today’s iteratively chaotic burden. OPH is a French-born DJ and producer based in Berlin, recognized for his dedication to vinyl and his deep connection to the city’s techno culture. His journey began in Lyon, where he was active as a music journalist and ran a webzine focused on the local scene. In 2014 he moved to Berlin, a decisive step that allowed him to immerse himself in the city’s clubs and to start playing regularly.

Over the years, OPH has shaped his sound through record digging and a broad musical background, channeling these influences into sets that balance intensity and emotion. This approach has brought him to play acclaimed closing sets at Berghain and RSO.

Beyond his solo work, he performs alongside his close friend Chami in their Face 2 Face project. Together they have played at iconic venues such as Berghain, Bassiani and Womb in Japan.

In recent years, OPH has also turned to music production, adding a new layer to his artistic journey and opening the way for future projects that reflect his ever evolving vision.

Born and raised in Rome, Luigi Tozzi is undoubtedly one of the most prolific and outstanding talents of his generation to come out of Italy. Slip into any record store worth its salt, or clubs from Tbilisi to Lisbon and you’ll find traces of his work there; his signature sound has sold its share of records true, but also deeply influenced the work of many of his contemporaries. His expansive compositions intimately tied to the space they’re heard in, circling in perfect arcs below the water’s surface, where sunlight becomes scarce and a connection with sound paramount. Reformulating not only dub. techno and ambient, but a trove of memories diving off the coast of Sicily’s neighbour Salina (and with the help of analog digital tools, VSTs and controllers during live performances), Tozzi has developed a mastery for hypnotic rhythms like nothing you’ve heard before. His close working relationship with Swedish output Hypnus, as well as Outis and Non-Series have pushed his aquatic sound to it’s absolute limit, creating a world of poignant textures that have given his genre the gift of new horizons. Here he visits the Podcast for an epic 128 minutes that delve into his abyssal world, haunting rumbles and immersive techno, a ghostly, shimmering live-set recorded at Bassiani.
