Jane Velkov (Jansky) was born in 1981 in Tetovo, Macedonia. He started playing music in 1998. In the beginning of his career, he mostly played house music. But, more specifically, Jane plays progressive and deep house music. However, starting from his career beginnings until now, the tribal vibe is still dominant in his DJ sets.
Back in 2005 he had his first residency in the club "EXIT", Tetovo. This performance was a stepping stone to Jansky’s music career. He started playing his sets in many different cities throughout Macedonia, such as Tetovo, Skopje (the capital city of Macedonia), Ohrid, Struga and few others. Having mentioned that he promoted his music in almost every club in Tetovo, he had also had festival performances around Macedonia. What is very significant is the thing that Jansky had a guest mix shows on few eminent radio stations in Europe and USA. Therefore, he was invited to play his exclusive DJ set (SLEEK show) on Frisky Radio, San Francisco. Knowing that his mix compilations are a great success, the producers of the radio stations are still suggesting him a guest DJ. Something that is interesting about him is that he is often invited to play music at private parties, which he says he really enjoys. ‘Coincidence’ and ‘Unpredicted’ are the two of his compilations that are presenting the sound and style which Jansky is following. That inspires pioneers of electronic music make their own music and in that way it develops the culture of the Electronic Music all over the country. His greatest success until now is the fact that he was a resident DJ and was warming up when the extra popular Hernan Cattaneo had his show in Bitola, Macedonia, in August 2013.
He was given the chance to take part in bigger projects, organizing promotions in all cities in Macedonia, named OLUK MULTIMEDIA.

Why Agar-Agar?
Mainly because ‘Pig In Pain’ was already taken but also for other (less relevant) reasons. Is it cool enough? Who knows, but, for some reason, this name feels like the only right one he should be carrying!
 
Who is Agar-Agar?
“Agar-Agar” is a Belgian electro-analog solo act. His sound is mostly shaped by everyday life’s constraints such as eternal recording and rehearsal studio vagabondage, dealing with hard-to-deal-with drummers and a very pronounced gear acquisition syndrome. Driven by a thirst to create despite these limitations, Agar-Agar is usually relaying on his trusty old (and not so old) machines and instruments to produce something ‘not so electronic’ as some might think when presented with this kind of line-up. Not an easy shift! It took him years to gradually abandon the ‘power-trio’ approach and become more and more independent and self-sufficient. So truly: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

WHAT WE’RE SEEKING…

We will consider most genres of electronic music - Techno, Tech House, House, Dubstep, Chillout, Ambient, Drum And Bass, Psytrance, Psychedelic, Minimal, Funk, Chill, Lounge, Dub, Electro, Breakbeat and Downtempo. DJ SET MUST BE EXACTLY 1:00:00 LONG! In other words, if your set is shorter or longer we will not consider it. We will not look at sets under 1 hour, nor will we consider editing it ourselves. Do it yourself, add intro voice, be creative... 

Important note: We do require correct labeling of the set: Artist-NameOfASet-DateRecorded. And don't forget to add the right GENRE!

We broadcast a majority of random sets but are very interested in and will broadcast right away a ONE STEP BEYOND sets. If you have something new and fresh in a genre we acquire, we would be happy to AIR your sound. Your passion, quality of mixing and voice is what will make your sets stand out and be considered for broadcasting. We are also acquiring fresh PODCASTS. Additionally, at this time we are looking for striking RADIO HOSTS. If you have an idea present it to us... No guts, no glory! We are looking for contributors of DJ TECH NEWS of any kind (Ableton, Traktor, Synths, Hardware,... you name it).
