okay, as a huge radiohead fan i have to give you guys props for having the stones to reinterpret the song so completely.  i feel like when you cover such an iconic artist, if you don't REALLY make it your own, you just sound like an ass.  nice job!

To celebrate the release of the new Radiohead Album, King of Limbs today, we decided it was high time you Soundcloud lot to take a listen to our own version of Radioheads 'Sulk' from 'The Bends' that we recorded back in the snowy days of January 2010.

In March last year BBC Oxford's local music show "Introducing…" celebrated its fifth birthday.
To mark the occasion the team decided to recreate Radiohead's seminal album The Bends.

Their version, dubbed 'Round The Bends', is a loving reinterpretation of the classic record which turned 15 years young in March.
The team have brought together their favourite local Oxford acts to work their magic on these amazing Radiohead songs.

Each of the album tracks have been completely reinterpreted and as a whole stand together as a phenomenal homage to the original.

Ever a hotbed for fresh musical talent, Oxford has long had a reputation for producing some of the countries finest, and with this debut EP from rapidly emerging darling’s of the local scene Ute – it is a reputation set to be enhanced. 

Coming off the back of a splendid 2010 which has seen them impress at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend, Truck, Secret Garden Part and Wychwood – the boys finally committed their enthralling live set to record. Taking lo-fi indie roots and merging them with the kind of rambunctious, speaker-blowing noise normally reserved for those of the more rock and roll persuasion, this is a record that undulates from the tender to the devastating.

Etheral at times, terrifying at others – this is a Viking feast of a record which fuses a whole host of glorious influences and delivers a must-listen, and listen again. Lush harmonious vocals traverse shuddering bass riffs, whilst unnerving guitar riffs loop over - the pace shifting from delicate tenderness to storm-rumbling swiftness…

It’s no wonder that Huw Stephens, Bethan Elfyn, Tom Robinson have all pledged their allegiance over the last 6 months… And that BBC Oxford felt it necessary to run an hour-long programme dedicated solely to the 3-piece. It may be a cliché to suggest that Ute are Oxford’s best-kept secret, but plans are afoot to wake more than just the dreaming spires… 

Ute will be accompanying the record with a mini-tour

Chock full of Doo Whops and La La La’s, glockenspiel scattered and full of charm. They sound like memories of lost summers. Bouncier than the trampolines of your childhood, cute, coy and not too serious. Lively and lovely, these guys are a lot of fun, Radio friendly, but not at all vacuous.
