In his debut EP on Mau House, St. Petersburg-based producer Jackie Jeff displays two splendid originals full of mesmerising electronic sounds ranging from Melodic Techno to Deep House. Jackie Jeff is serving us the' Shadows' EP, which exhibits a pumping musical adventure full of hypnotic synth riffs and fabulous vocals which will lift your soul and raise your energy to new heights. On remix duty, we are happy to welcome back Vlad Jet with his carefully crafted remix, which displays a beautiful interpretation full of sharp synths and massive bass lines that perfectly suites peak time hours. Next, we have Mr Morek with his debut release on our label, serving us a brilliant and glorious remix that captivates listeners with his powerful and well-producer sound signature that leaves a strong feeling of pure happiness and endless freedom. Opening the year in style, Agnosia Black welcomes label boss Choopie back for a new EP. With a career that spans the better part of three decades Israeli artist Choopie is widely regarded as one of his country's premiere electronic music talents. Releases via Bedrock and Yoshitoshi laid the groundwork for what has been a storied career, one which has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. Choopie's current production output often finds a perfect balance between progressive and organic house, an amalgamation of sound which has carried to him recent projects for 3rd Avenue, Mango Alley and Sol Selectas. Now, getting 2023 underway on a strong note, Choopie returns to his comfortable home of Agnosia Black with 'Berez'.

Much lauded for his groove-centric sounds, Choopie continues to explore that narrative on the title selection 'Berez'. Wrapped within a fluid rhythmic shell are punchy beats, pulsating basslines and a myriad of tantalizing effects. The Israelis storyboarding takes hold as a mystical tonal theme rises, playing off the groove's swing heavy rhythms, eventually accented by deconstructed vocals, which ultimately push the narrative to an otherworldly finale. For the less vocally inclined the Original Mix operates as a dub, coming equally correct for the dance floor as well.

The companion piece 'Delusion' continues the progressive tone set by its predecessor and lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Possessing a dramatic undercurrent, Choopie works hypnotizing percussion and percolating effects over chugging grooves and buoyant beats, creating waves of ultrasonic energy across the first act. Its thrilling pulse builds during a prophetic break, where cinematic pads and wavy arps converge, perfectly setting up a thunderous drop as the main arp steals the air for a colourful final act. A sure-fire dancefloor burner from Choopie, which gets the year off to a great start for the much-lauded artist. Highly recommended.

Deep Melodica is a Compilation written by Johnny Deep. Genres include melodic deep house, deep organic and soft progressive. Also included is a collaboration with Disco Daze.
Most Listeners may not realise that Streaming has unfortunately caused a massive loss of income for artists.
