“As the son and nephew of pioneering UK nu roots dub duo Alpha & Omega — bassist Christine Woodbridge and keyboard player John Sprosen — Ben Alpha Steppa grew up surrounded by sound system and dubplate culture, starting in his mother's womb at Channel One and Jah Shaka shows. In his music the competing influences of nature and nurture cannot be separated. He has grown to become one of the most prolific and inventive dub producers around, absorbing worldwide inputs into his productions without dilution of their constituent parts, most notably with his recent Trigram series. On this set collaborating artists are from Russia, Senegal, Nigeria, Jamaica, Suriname and Brazil, but the true test of all reggae/ dub productions is when they stand alone in the mix, here with the horn driven march of "Concrete Meditation". Alpha Steppa places himself in the same league as Aswad's "Warrior Charge" and comes out proud.” Steve Barker – Wire Magazine

Le groupe facebook « How Do U Dub » est créé en 2016 par High Burn (aka Dub Inverter) dans le but de proposer une solution d’entraide et de partage interactive concernant tout ce qui gravite autour du dubmaking . De la MAO (Musique Assistée par Ordinateur) en passant par les techniques de mixage, le matériel hardware ou la théorie musicale , ce groupe propose à ses membres de venir poser ses questions et partager ses connaissances. Un seul mot d’ordre , l’unité , une seule devise , DUB IT !!!

L’évolution constante du groupe a aujourd’hui poussé son fondateur à lancer un projet commun, destiné à investir les membres du groupe de manière encore plus concrète et ainsi promouvoir leur travail , tout en servant une cause par la collecte de fonds qui seront par la suite intégralement reversés à une association choisie elle-même par les membres par un système de vote.

Se voulant le plus collectif possible, c’est donc à la suite de décisions collégiales au sein du groupe que naît le projet de compilation, destinée à permettre aux dubmakers volontaires d’exercer leur art tout en leur permettant de soutenir une cause commune et ainsi revendiquer une fois de plus l’idéologie et les messages fondateurs qui symbolisent l’esprit de cette musique : l’unité et le partage.
