Mateusz Miller solidified his position as one of the most exciting global ambassadors for the sound with his 2011 debut album and he returns to the mighty Moonshine Recordings with another killer full length selection of thick dread bassweight and proper roots vibes. Matt’s influences have always been varied, and his music’s rich diversity is in full effect across the LP as he adeptly shifts between tempos and moods, utilising his ear for melody and rhythm to create an absorbing collection of timeless sounds. The ground shaking sub-frequencies central to each track are built to challenge soundsystems and ignite dancefloors, whether it’s on the livewire rhythms of his jungle indebted track ‘Wicked Dub’, the driving sonic force of the drum and bass styled ‘Different Dub’ or the dubbed out, skank-ready movements of tracks like ‘Earthwalker’ and ‘Indra’. As well as the all-powerful bass pressure, Radikal Guru works with a colourful array of instrumentation, and brings in characterful vocalists YT, Danman and Echo Ranks to provide melodic lead and reggae lyricism on ‘Stay Calm’, ‘Know Yourself’ and ‘Warning!’ respectively. The final result is shining example of modern roots/ reggae-centred music in 2013, executed brilliantly and certain to last the test of time. Mystical Steppin'

To those suspended moments.
Those thresholds where the day stretches, where light hesitates, where shadows reach out but never close their grip. That in-between where everything is just half of something else. Maybe music, in the end, is just that.

I didn’t try to compose a series of tracks. What I wanted was a comet, a continuous vibration. If there has to be silence, it should carry weight. If there’s grain, it should be rough. If something is born, it must rise from what came before. An echo has both its source and its rebound, and the rebound remembers.

This album holds memories of a time I never knew. Analog warmth, tape wobbles, sparks filled with imperfections. Layers and fragments of a future only half-imagined, artifacts that feel almost unreal.

And then, there are the images. The burn of an orange sun scraping the horizon, a deep blue night where every star feels both infinitely close and impossibly distant. Heavy skies, soaked in salt. Voices erased by the wind but still lingering, somewhere, like whispers of an echo.

US production duo Alter Echo & E3 have linked up with Bristol’s Ishan Sound to create an awe- inspiring warrior stance anthem. Ah Mi Guide features a hypnotic sample from Rider Shafique, over an unrelenting beat crafted by E3 and Ishan then mixed in dub by Alter Echo. The flipside remix comes via ascendant dubstep producer Egoless, who transforms the stark original into a slow burning fire, garnished with a flourishing flute refrain. Either side is guaranteed to shake up and mesmerise a dance!
