Loose Canon – Monday 20th March 2023 (#475)

The title was a work in progress titled I used every once and a while

I believe this was right before "Someday" and you can hear the similarities in the second half

Couldn't figure out where to go from here so I just scrapped it in favor of "Someday"

I made this remix to be more of a trap/triphop kind of vibe with the hip-hop type of drums, yet added some other effects for the atmospherics. I also, added my own melodies to the track to give this classic something bittersweet, while I chopped and screwed with the original acoustic melody. I wanted my own melodies of the soft bassline and the high pitched piano keys to be the like that of the fleeting sounds of yearning for something much more than your bleak reality. Essentially, making the timely classic my own.

Johnny Cash is one of my favorite singers and wanted to do something special, yet fresh and new. This track is coming in at 161 BPM in C major. Enjoy!

This is an original remix of the song Somebody That I used To Know by Australian musician and singer, Gotye. The track is coming in at 125 BPM in C sharp minor. 

I sprinkled in some dubstep, added a dash of something ominous and eerie to the atmospherics and fined tuned the vocal samples. It's my own twist on a great indie classic. I hope you enjoy! Cheers!
