EPM.188 comes from Detroit group Strand. With releases on revered labels such as Frictional, React, Tresor, Puzzlebox, Mojuba, Delsin and as a DJ, B. Bonds has been a guiding presence on the Detroit DJ scene for many years. With a genre bending aesthetic and a commitment to the genuine purpose of the DJ he blends elements of techno, house and electro with expert ease on his mix for EPM, featuring tracks from artists such as Chip E, Scott Grooves, Alan Fitzpatrick, Robert Hood, Eddie Fowlkes, Aril Brikha, Kerri Chandler, Daniel Bell, Francesco Terranova, Paul Mac and more.

After being introduced to the art of mixing two records in the early ‘80s by Eddie Fowlkes, B. Bonds earned his first residency in Windsor, Ontario at Stanley’s in 1988. Glasgow, Dublin, Munich, Amsterdam, and Bologna are some of the places he’s played. With an ear for the future B. Bonds always keeps it funky and he keeps that going throughout this EPM Mix as well as in his and Keith Tucker’s remix of Reel By Real’s legendary ‘Surkit’. The track also gets a full remastered vinyl release via EPM/Yoyaku on 23 May with further remixes from drum n bass legend Calibre and Oliver Way & Ben Long feat. Jon Dixon.

"This set was recorded at dawn on a Sunday morning, closing out a long day of incredibly inspiring music. I hadn’t gone to bed yet and was so locked into the sound that by the time I started playing, I was already deep in a trance. I took over from Formant Value & Simone Bauer’s live set, picking up the momentum where they left off, then gradually brought the BPM down, leaning into psychedelic textures and trance-laced rhythms.

Those two hours flew by - we were all locked in. It’s a rare kind of magic to do what you love in a place like Refractor, where most artists stay for the whole weekend to immerse themselves in the community and support each other. Music has this way of creating deep connections, and you could feel that throughout the festival. We were part of something unique.

And the crowd... what can I say. Even after a full day of dancing, they stayed with me through the entire set, joining me on the sonic journey I was crafting to carry us into the morning."

Swiss-born, London-based artist TSUNIMAN has gracefully imprinted the London scene with their spellbinding selections from the underground, spanning raw trance, spacey techno, tribal rhythms, and progressive delights.
