The record delivers upon the excess mantra & assembles bassy cuts of every flavour, across a glistening tracklist featuring nineteen unique producers from across the globe. The project was undertaken in support of Fareshare, a UK based charity that combats food poverty across the country.
In our time of spiralling inflation, the burgeoning cost of living crisis has made food poverty a daunting reality for so many. excess will donate all profits from the sales of this project to Fareshare, to make what difference we can to those in need during a time of unprecedented difficulty.

Contributing to this cause are a host of exciting artists, across a wide spectrum of underground bass music genres. Moving from ambient 2-step and bouncy UK funky rhythms, to raucous 4x4 grime and turbo jungle, this record navigates every corner of the bass music landscape, without stopping to take a breath. Raised down under and now based between London and LA, AK Sports’ productions, DJ sets and Balamii shows are a melting pot of rave flavours, equally inspired by the old school as the new.

This makes for a truly unique, easily identifiable sound that combines computer-love, retro acid synths (‘Robots Are Forever’) and anthemic piano stabs (‘Sayulita’) with futuristic, cosmic soundscapes; and industrial techno, with MPC claps and reverberating breaks (‘Kurrupt’, ‘Xoxo’). After Mani Festo’s last contribution to our techno-oriented Basement Tracks series, a sequel was a no-brainer. It’s no exaggeration to say that over the last couple of years the DJ, producer and label boss has become widely recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting techno artists, given his easily identifiable sound, each release just as bold and hard-hitting
as the last - this one included.

Synkron EP boasts Mani Festo’s ability to create raw, industrial electronics which never sacrifice movement nor swing. Each track is crafted with a precise direction, some via industrial electro instrumentals (‘Barricade’); others with acidic accents and the introduction of breaks (‘Grass Snake’) and another with hard techno proclivities (‘Synkron’). If this weren’t enough, we’re stoked to draft in iconic Bristol producer Addison Groove who adds sharp rim shots and spasmodic synths to ‘Barricade’ to give it even more movement and body.
