Taking influence from modern greats such as Flying Lotus, BADBADNOTGOOD and Yussef Kamaal, this single takes cumulus back to his roots of odd time signatures and jittering guitar riffs. Guess what? Yet another song that started as a shitpost. This one dates back to around May 2021, I posted a clip called “cirno whatsapp” on Loudness Refuge, consisting of the first 8 bars of the drop into another drop, but with really shitty Tearout basses. I had a laugh and forgot about it, until a couple of months ago, when I was compiling songs for my 2022 Showcase. I extended the original clip from 8 to 32 bars, and because I had lots of fun doing that and people seemed to like it, I ended up making it into a full thing. Genres like these allow you to put so much cool harmony while still being aggressive and high energy. That blend of musicality and heaviness is my main goal with music as a whole, and I hope I can keep improving on it and pushing it forward.

This song would not exist without the music of Jayster (@jaystermusic) Tony Thai (@midiman10), Inverted Silence (@invertedsilence) and Mameyudoufu (@mameyudoufu). On the bright and early morning of August 12th, 2023, over 1,000 creatives began their 24-hour work session that resulted in 558 unique songs and 66 album covers. Musicians bounced out stems for each other and shared samples, visual artists scoured the Internet for fonts and graphics, and everyone excitedly buzzed about what would come of it all. The final result? 45 of the most outstanding, creative, and genuine tracks our corner of the digital world has to offer—with an equally beautiful album cover to match.

The real enrichment lies in the act of creation. A piece of art does not have to be forward-thinking or never-seen-before, nor does it have to be better than the last; it simply has to be. To create something without worry of what others might think, to have fun with your work, is one of the greatest things this world has to offer—digital or otherwise.

All proceeds from All Nighter Vol. 8 will be going to Out & Equal, an organization dedicated to workplace equality for LGBTQ+ individuals.
