'Born in Milan and raised in London, Cristina Lazic is a DJ and producer, with a radio show on Ibiza Global, and has released music on Rebellion and her on Bondage Music. Her deep and stripped back vibes with a groove are her musical signature, and we are delighted to have her back on the label.

21 Past 20 is a deep and hypnotic workout, with a sprightly and upbeat vibe, while keeping things deep and locked in to the vibe with its solid bass adding a real depth.

The dub mix takes us on a sophisticated groove based journey, keeping things sparse, and allowing the elements to shine through. Adding gritty edges and hints of melodies, this is a hot alternate twist on the original.

Label staples Pornbugs are on remix duties too, and take things a little tougher, with dubby tones and plenty of energy, sprinkling the good stuff and delivering plenty of punch.'

People Of The Light continue their fine run of form as the summer season arrives with POTL014, @subjacentmusic ‘Elward’ EP. The San Francisco/Philly based female duo have caused quite the stir offering up a blend of techno and melodic with recent works gaining support of John Digweed, Tom Pooks & Emanate to name a few. They are joined on ‘Elward’ with Just Her (@justhermusic) and label head honcho Jay Hill (@jayneuf) who both step up on remix duty.

The title track kicks off proceedings with rich synth swells and icey hats paving the way to an ethereal vocal that stands proud amongst flurries of melodic offerings. ‘Dislocate’ ups the energy as rolling techno drums pound from the off and snippets of acidic elements cascade throughout the production.

Just Her’s take on ‘Elward’ welcomes an irresistible breaks groove and soft yet engaging melodic top lines whilst still allowing the original vocal work to shine bright. Closing the show; Jay Hill delivers an atmospheric rework, stripping it back with echoing drum hits, warm pads and electro infused bass line.

‘Elward’ lands 28th of June on all stores on People of the Light Records.

"I can't quite remember where I was when I first heard this masterpiece from Matt Dear but it resonated with me instantly. And judging by how many DJs got behind it "Mouth to Mouth" was destined to become a classic. The 10 year anniversary is quite special for me not only because of how timeless and relevant the track remains, but 2006 was also the year I branched out as a solo artist. So thank you Matt for the inspiration and I hope my take on it complements the original masterpiece." - Dubfire

As well-received as Audion's debut album—the sawed-off techno of Suckfish—was back in 2005, Matthew Dear's alter ego didn't assert its dominance until the following year. That's when Richie Hawtin slipped Audion's next single (the anthem-on-arrival that is "Mouth to Mouth") into the closing set of Detroit's Electronic Music Festival, pulling the pin on the weekend's most explosive moment and leaving everyone wondering what the hell just happened. 
Which was kinda the point. Dear wrote and recorded "Mouth to Mouth" right after a two-week tour of Europe, and in many ways, its hypnotic rhythms and signature bee swarm hook—cut in real time over the course of a couple restless hours—are meant to replicate the rush he felt in many overseas clubs.

"There was a great energy being shared by a lot of artists then," explains Dear. "I remember playing the song for a few people and it was clear something special was happening, something meditative in the simple repetition and slow build of it all."

The side-long single has stood the test of time, too, enough to warrant another look along the ambitious lines of Mouth to Mouth 10. The double pack reveals how one track can take on a life of its own in the hands of eight distinct producers, keeping its core intact without being afraid to manipulate the record's overall mood. So while Riva Starr's mischievous version sounds like it could be dropped in the middle of a sweaty Horse Meat Disco set, Dubfire lurks in the shadows, waiting to strike; and Dense & Pika crank up the chaos like a pressure cooker set to self-destruct.

"I asked everyone to treat their remix like a cover," explains Dear, "letting the theme guide them rather than the parts. Everyone put a piece of themselves into it, and I'll forever be grateful to them for contributing." 

He can also breathe a sigh of relief, for Mouth to Mouth 10 marks the end of Audion's first chapter and the beginning of what's to come with his long-awaited second LP this summer.

@locodiceofc has joined forces with Detroit techno luminary Eddie Fowlkes (@detroitwax) on new EP ‘D-Town Playaz’, out 7th August on Dice’s fledgling @encouleur imprint.

“In my early days I was a huge Eddie Fowlkes fan and I played his Detroit Wax releases a lot,” Loco Dice recalls. “When I finally met him in Detroit years later it was clear that there was a bond between us which lead us to making this EP together.”
