Last year we were treated to the release of ‘Eric Sharp and Friends’, the exciting ep from Los Angeles producer Eric Sharp, which was received with significant acclaim across the globe, and this week Eric Sharp returns to continue his ascendency with his latest deep-house inspired single, ‘Monday Blues’. 

Featuring long-time collaborator Zhao, ‘Monday Blues’ takes us on an emotional rollercoaster filled with moments of anguish and inspiration that draws from real life experiences, instantly striking a chord with the listener through its relatability.

“Monday Blues is a personal piece that comes from a place of empathy and compassion. It was written during a time when someone very close to me was unearthing deep-seated psychic pain in a healing process from their past. The verses are imbued with struggle and heaviness, while the chorus inspires hope, and faith in the ability move beyond our hurts together. Everyone has challenges in life, and we are never alone in our feelings. There is no wound too deep to be made whole, and I hope this song reminds people of that.’ – Eric Sharp

Centered around a driving force in the percussion, ‘Monday Blues’ is united with a dark and ominous sounding synth and deep bass combination. Eric Sharp has brilliantly manipulated the mix to follow the rises and falls with a positivity that is purely heightened by the effortless vocal offerings of Zhao sitting perfectly atop.  

“‘I remember we wanted to write a song about hope, but also something that was realistic. There’s a lot of dance tracks that are out there to save your life, to help you forget your problems and escape. But whenever I write with Eric, the themes tend to be pretty grounded. It’s a song about looking for hope and finding it: not suddenly or miraculously - but with patience, and by sticking together with people you care about.” - Zhao

Not So Under brings with his debut ep on deep. force charged and timeless sound without compromises.

The first title, which is also namesake of this EP, "Jewels & Diamonds", is sonically more relevant than ever. He comes with a very crisp, shuffely beat and arouses curiosity to enjoy the track as whole. Paired with rich moogsounds and a vocal that just looking to hit the dance floor, this track moves every dancefloor and spreads a unique Vibe, no matter what time it is.

Track number 2 takes the world a little out of speed. With its well designed and lovingly used vocal it seems as if you are gently taken by the hand and carried off. With a unique sound, "Faces" brings warmth and a sense of timelessness to the whole ep, which takes us on a journey, far away from any effort.

"Kids" is an instrumental untreated track, who's mixing a pleasant of soft mood to each dj set. It comes with very fresh and warm synth-sounds, which are fully in line with the powerfull rhythm. Kids is a homarge to the life with his inimitable moments, that draw us into its spell day by day.

The fourth title in the league is the remix of a very talented artist of southamerica. The brazilian artist Danke gives the title "Jewels & Diamonds" a very special note. Danke interpreted this track in its own way, with a full range of well balanced huge sounds over it. He gives him a deep touch, set him in scene with great attention to the detail and rounded up the whole ep with full harmony.

Currently based in Denmark, Alvaro hails from southern Spain. Since he started producing in 2005, Hylander has been able to forge a strong connection between his sound and his self as he works on finding a perfect balance of deep, groovy, and organic that has given him his unmistakable sound. Alvaro Hylander's unfaltering efforts in delivering untainted Deep House music has lead him to appearing on various labels alongside heading his own longstanding label, DeepWit Recordings. With many of his tracks making it into various genre  Top 100s in both Beatport and Traxsource, he is a name both recognized and respected in the underground. You can expect nothing but the highest quality productions and sensuous grooves in the coming years from Alvaro Hylander.
