Este 2018 se han cumplido 10 años de mi labor de estudio y mi presencia en los escenarios; para conmemorarlo el MACBA me invitó a dar un concierto, el cual duró mas de lo que en este set se contempla... tuve la oportunidad de mostrar otras facetas que se me dan muy bien: tocar covers con la gameboy y pinchar remixes de temas clásicos del mundo, versionados a ritmos tropicales. 

This 2018 marks 10 years of my studio work and my presence on the stage; to commemorate this, MACBA invited me to give a concert, which lasted longer than is contemplated in this set ... I had the opportunity to show other sides in which I consider I’m very good at: playing covers with my gameboy and playing remixes of global hits that are covered in tropical rhythms.

"La gente se aburre con los dj's lineales..."

Esta era la frase que escuchaba a menudo tras bailar en las sesiones de artistas como Girl Talk, 2 Many Dj's o Santisima Virgen Maria. Y es que cuando les empecé a escuchar, la mayoría de gente que me rodeaba había perdido ya los prejuicios o la necesidad de pertenecer a una estilo musical: se  disfrutaba en las casas, tanto de bailar apretados una bachata hipnótica como de saltar con un himno de house. 

Al mismo tiempo que mi mente hacía hincapié en estos comentarios de la escena, también empecé a sentirme cansado de representar mis propios temas en directo; era aburrido interpretar solamente las canciones que salían de mi propia pluma así que decidí dedicar más tiempo espacio a explorar mi curiosidad sonora, iniciando así mi labor como archivador de sellos discográficos iberoamericanos en Radio3. 

Esto me permitió encontrar continuamente durante 5 años versiones, remixes y mashups tan... bien elaborados como los tracks originales. Así pues, mis sesiones se llenaron de cambios y  giros tan bruscos como inesperados, ya que una sorpresa metódica que hilaba un denominador común y dejaba atrás la necesidad de una progresión estilística.  Sentí otra vez ese flow de fiesta casera pero con gente que no conocía; tanto el público como yo, gozamos de una empatía frenética al redescubrir temas de toda la vida con ritmos nuevos...bailándolos como si fueran la primera vez. 

Así pues, acá os dejo otra sesión hiperactiva para gente con bagaje auditivo y apertura de cadera & mente 😎 😍

ps: cómo los premios fueron en Málaga, tuve que echar varios cierres jondos pa que la gente quedara a gusto con los cantos a pecho!

ps: encuentro en este mix cierta narrativa "romántica" bastante incongruente por el resultado de yuxtaponer letras fuera de su contexto, supongo que el revisionismo histórico no puede ser víctima de sensibilidades inexistentes en el momento de su creación; así que más allá de intentar exaltar posturas caducas ante las corrientes de la corrección política, me inclino a contrastar el status quo de cada época con ánimos de comprender de mejor manera los caminos que nos han traído a tener las formas de pensamiento actual.

This is a composition which differs slightly each time it is performed, as the whales are programmed to have simple minds of their own, but usually they move closer attracted by the sax sound, and change their songs as they learn from each other and respond to the saxophone.
