Commentary:

4am
Experimented with using a formanted bass instead of a guitar—it produced a deep, rich guitar tone that fit an early morning mood quite well.

dawn
Thought of this idea and called myself crazy, before putting it onto paper (midi, just using the expression). The progressions a bunch of major 7ths (I think that's what they're called) and created this using a modified Spitfire LABS preset. Pads that manage not to be muddy in their initial state are always great for lofi music.

咖啡和茶
Named because the name in English sounded terrible. The theme of this album is progressing through the different moods of a day, hence "24hrs" and apparently I thought the time when you have coffee or tea was a time within the day. I don't even consistently drink either of these.

morning solemnity
There's always this one moment in the morning where I'll feel depressed about life, and it's really likely a product of my sleep deprivation. So I made a song reflecting this.

daybreak
The first of the album that I ever made. If you follow my instagram (https://www.instagram.com/alxkeda) you'll know I made this one over a year ago. I kind of got stuck in a huuuuuge producing block, and I don't know how I overcame it, but I'm back to making music at the original quantity.

afternoon
One of the last songs I finished when ordering these chronologically—although one of the first to start. This one features the craziest harmonies I think I've ever conceived, but it works.

extemporaneous days
This one highlights the improvisational nature of life. I wasn't planning on making this one, but I got a cheap, used guitar, and it felt natural (also one extemporaneous fashion) to make a song with it.

evening
Got my friend @nicholasz2510 to play sax on this one. He didn't like the dissonance, and I somewhat agree—but I think one thing that helped me finish this album and get over my producer's block was not giving a sh*t about how terrible any of the songs sounded. Also the end sounds like one of the songs you'll hear when you're put on hold but I love it

starlight
One of the only remaining songs in this album (I ditched quite a few) to use an interesting guitar process I made using several of the jazz guitar presets from the free edition of Kontakt. Now that I have a guitar (although not an instrument I know how to play) the lofi I make is starting to sound closer and closer to other songs—I still want to preserve the interesting tone of unorthodox solutions. Limitations can breed creativity.

miniature midnight epiphany
I was considering scrapping this one, but the new title combined with someone's words that they enjoyed this one encouraged me to keep it. It models having revelations in your dreams, the revelations that devestate you when you wake to discover them untrue.

lucidity
The earliest of the tracks, this one was reused from when I first got into lofi, around the time of the In The Mix community challlenge, the first challenge I won. At this time I still didn't quite know what lofi was, and you can still hear bits of electronic music in here. I added this one to the album the day I uploaded to my distributor, simply because I surprised myself with those harmonies considering it was over a year ago.
