These demos are mostly tests with sometimes Fx but no real final mixing. However this sounds already pretty funky as is :) I will do proper and more complex demos along the way so keep following this playlist.

Series of test with the actual VLINN VST beta
through an AMS RMX 16 Reverb unit.
The VLinn features accurate emulation of the EPROM decoding, DAC and custom control over the CEM 3320 (4poles lp filter) and CEM 3360 (Hihat)you will also be able to import EPROM binaries dump directly into the vst :)

Another quick loop showcasing the VLINN VST basic features , with a nice Open/Closed hihat pattern, a Tom is going into a wah pedal and the whole got some AMS RMX 16 nonlin2 preset love and was printed on K7 tape.
I will showcase the pitch changing capability next with that raw 8bit companded Drum sound :)

Just the VLINN with some delay, reverb and overdrive on Toms..You probably heard this funky simple beat somewhere... :) it is just another take on this as the original was recorded and tweaked with tape vari-speed..

Some more quick funky tests pretty much unmixed...I will record proper songs when I have a chance ;) The first loop contains some EPROMS replaced by Fairlight CMX sounds, like that legendary ORCH_estra hit :) VLINN VST can also replace its internal LM-1 EPROMS by loading compatible ones in binary format! (basically, Linndrum, DMX, Drumtracks etc...)

Tribute to a living Legend!
I have used this video http://guntrafficradio.com/post/86063965591/roger-linn-rogerlinn-linndrum-sae-sf made by guntrafficradio and built a track upon that short Mr Linn demonstration of his new product at SAE Institute in San Francisco. Roger Linn is the inventor of the 1st Digital Sample Based Drum Computer called the Linn LM1, only around 500 have been made & it changed history forever.
I have just released an accurate VST emulation of the LM1 and I have used it on this quick tribute. Musicaly Inspired by another Funky little Roger btw... :)

Quick test, first is based on a well known LM1 drum pattern, second part is a quick jam snippet with a live feel, unmixed featuring the Linndrum (LM2) Kick & snare, the rest is LM1.

I had a real funky fun with this one, as I was jamming on this beat searching for a fine VLINN tuning, I recorded the whole Jam and overdubbed all instruments on top, this jam is 45 min long...So I just uploaded a fine part ahahaa (for those who ask, yes this is me on all instruments and vocals, minimum required if you do some Minneapolis inspired funk IMO :) )

Another bunch of extracts from my last VLINN testings, the 1st one I have used a Talkbox for that classic Zapp feel, second one is more Minneapolis (Prince, The Times..) sounding and the last extract is a typical 80s pop rock with some added Simmons Drums on top of the Linn LM1 :)

Oh, MAN!

This was so much fun to recreate! I started with a simple LM-1 pattern, courtesy of Aly James's great VLinn plug in, then the rest was SonicProjects' OP-X Pro II. I was actually surprised at how closely I was able to recreate the sounds from the original song. Men Without Hats were big Prophet-5 users (who wasn't?) but they also used a Yamaha CS-50 for strings and tinny synth sounds........ 

I was able to do both on the OP-X Pro II!!!!!

This track has been mixed and mastered without any modern dynamic compression (loudness war...)So turn up your volume and enjoy the dynamic and headroom!
So here we are VLINN version 2 (crossplatform and new features) is finally ready and will be launched in few days! So I have taken my funk back on and recorded this+ 6min Minneapolis type funk with the sound of the Purple Rain Era in mind :) and I have a very special guest for that, the legendary Doctor (Matthew) Fink (Prince keyboard player from early years to around 90!) who dropped a smoking Oberheim keyboard solo in the middle on the jam like he used too :D

Before someone ask again, this is basically me on everything you hear excepted Mr Fink keyboard solo performance.

BTW, Vlinn has been renamed VProm.
Same track called "Drum Machine" but using a modern "heavy limited" mastering that I am not too crazy about...but hey! some people like loud stuff without turning the volume up, there is quite some dynamics lost but you can also hear anything even at low volumes or with ear buds.. :)
