A brave debut during the toughest times for the electronic scene, yet an anthem to the desire to be part of the world of clubbing.
The EP shifts towards a cinematic sound with UK garage inflections, hypnotic voices and a tasteful breakbeat lure.
Everything leans on a dark wave sensation that does not allow to fully understand Acidgigi.

Remix by @closetyi is a collaborative joining between transonic synthesizers from the original track with configurative plots of old school bass lines and abstract effect automations. Embracing the deep sounds of Juno and other instruments dissolved into Acidgigi’s own production, Closet kept the original subtleness but gave a darker twist so it can find a nice balance within the whole EP.
Feeling that the key elements of ‘Hypersomnia’ is the dreamy elements of the synths which both suits well for a night-time runner and day-time refresher, the remix extends those vibes to a more druggy experience of transporting illuminations with vibrant acid lines and muddy percussions on top.

Hypersomnia is the scientific word used to refer to all sleep-related disorders.
With insomnia nothing is real. Suffering from insomnia means you are far away from people’s regular lives.
Through insomnia, you feel a deep connection with night, you are obsessed by the night.
It’s fascinating, it’s my world. Through music, i want to translate this dimension into a ritual. The manic obduracy of our mind to fabricate thoughts, reasonings and definitions. Its rejection to abdicate in front of the divine unconsciousness of closed eyes or the wise madness of dreams.

Alessandro Carnevali, better known as Volantis, has carved out a niche for himself within the vibrant tapestry of the Italian clubbing scene. Renowned not only as a skilled DJ but also as a versatile figure within the Milanese underground, his journey through music has been one of constant evolution and exploration.

Rooted in the warm, enveloping sounds of dark disco, Volantis's style has morphed over the years to incorporate dreamy and electronic vibrations, adding layers of depth and intrigue to his DJ sets. His ability to seamlessly blend genres and moods creates a captivating experience for his audience, drawing them into his sonic world with each carefully curated track.

In 2017, Volantis joined forces with the Discosafari collective, where he became a resident artist. Together, they embarked on a series of groundbreaking projects and events at the iconic Dude Club in Milan, solidifying their place within the city's nightlife scene. The following year saw Volantis take on a new role as a resident DJ for Club Nation, spinning tunes at the historic Magazzini Generali alongside esteemed icons such as Kruder & Dorfmeister, Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Vath, and DVS1.

Yet, Volantis's contributions extend beyond the DJ booth. Alongside Nicodemo, he co-founded Alzaya, a hidden gem in the Italian underground scene. Alzaya is not just a label; it is a safe place for artistic expression, a platform for emerging talent, and a beacon of authenticity in an ever-evolving landscape. Through its boutique releases, immersive events, and captivating radio show on the renowned Radio Raheem, Alzaya continues to push boundaries and redefine the boundaries of underground music in Milan.
