The 3rd mov. is longer and includes improvisiation mainly by the viola. The whole quartet was premiered in Lisbon, 1999, by the "Bohemian Café Quartet" (Evan Coka, Alberto Caeiro and other musicians of the Orchestra do Teatro de São Carlos). Derived from 11th Century Old English, Welton means “farm by the spring”. This small town in East Yorkshire has been their home for the last 40 years...This is where I grew up and this is how I remember it.

I chose to cover this Yes composition because it inspired me as a teen, but also because my improved studio needed a challenging tune for a maiden voyage.  The lyrics are abstract and the vocals are very much in the Jon Anderson high vibrational realm. As I understand, Anderson first thought of the song when he read about an ageless hymn, "A star song that is sung every now and again."  

Be advised this is just over sixteen and a half minutes of rather detailed audio. 

By the way, there is always an open invitation for Jon Anderson to replace my lead vocals on this.
