Summer 2022 has been a busy festival season, from our own Natural Frequencies to various participations in many amazing events. 

@de_palma_music and I are happy to present our set recorded live from the amazing Illusion Festival situated in Béthanie, Quebec. The event blew us away with their stellar decorations and attention to details!

This set is a true back to back between us, throughout the two hours we threw the ball back and forth and created a unique vibe for the festival goers!

SEVN & Depalma - Illusion Festival Live Set

This project unites artists from two labels, Chinese based bié Records and Latin America based Shika Shika, separated by very contrasting cultures and thousands of kilometers but united by shared values and a shared musical vision.

Driven by values of creativity, borderless music and fairness for artists, both labels showcase artists that unite electronica with ambient and folk music, purposefully existing outside of the globalized, copy-paste of the mainstream music industry.

A mix of intrigue and mutual respect led to the birth of this compilation, with the two labels teaming up to match together a group of their artists to remix each other. The result is a widely imaginative, fresh and diverse selection of tracks featuring some of the prominent producers such as DaYe, Lim Giong; Hualun, Sun Dawei and Rainsoft from bié records and DJ Raff, Terror:Cactus, Numa Gama, Barrio Lindo and El Búho from Shika Shika.

Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown in the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a label from the land of the Ancient Greeks: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music trip outside traditional paths with driving grooves and polyphonic structures that are seeking dancers to Dionysian highs and places never seen before.

The native name of Greece in Modern Greek is Ελλάδα. The corresponding form in Ancient Greek and conservative formal Modern Greek is Ἑλλάς (Hellas). This is the source of the English alternative name Hellas, which is mostly found in archaic or poetic contexts today. The Greek adjectival form ελληνικός is sometimes also translated as Hellenic and is often rendered in this way in the formal names of Greek institutions, as in the official name of the Greek state, the Hellenic Republic. The English names Greece and Greek are derived, via the Latin Graecia and Graecus, from the name of the Graeci (Graikós), who were among the first ancient Greek tribes to settle Magna Graecia in southern Italy. The term is possibly derived from the Proto-Indo-European root "to grow old", more specifically from Graea (ancient city), said by Aristotle to be the oldest in Greece, and the source of colonists for the Naples area. This is the first compilation in “The Path To Hedonism” series and is dedicated to Greece.  “ǎlo” EP  from Italian multidisciplinary artist Ka:lu is an invitation to immerse in abundance, respect and gratefulness to most of the energies we can't perceive and experience with our 5 senses but who are in motion all around !

Through his arts, as in music, he always tries to express the belief into sounds as universal language, a way to get in meditation, a tool to understand where we are coming from, where we are, where we are going.

The first track from the EP “ǎlo “ has its meaning from latin expression  “nourishment”  following by  "enuj"  of his daughter’s second name reversed "June";  coming from romanian mythology and goddess Juno - sign of vital force, the fullness of vital energy and eternal youthfulness !

NahNah, represents a mysterious female god, born out of the artist's imagination , mostly being around and looking for the creation of connections between people especially as she knows what we need and who can help us... she plays with life trying to make things happen !

We hope that you are going to enjoy this musical jewel - a tremendous grazie mille and merci beaucoup for the inspiring contribution of all those truly talented artists who did an amazing work of remixing !

Hayan (PK) is a Jeddah-born electronic music luminary based in Islamabad, Pakistan. With a profound connection to Progressive, Organic, and Deep House, he embraced music production over a year ago, swiftly gaining global recognition for his innovative compositions.

As a DJ and producer, Hayan has performed at renowned venues worldwide and collaborated with industry giants like Dmitry Molosh and Sinan Arsan. His tracks, featured on international radio shows, resonate globally.

Paul is a southern German DJ and Producer who was born and raised in Nuremberg. His sets and productions reflect his openness for different sounds and elements. His tracks appeared on various labels such as "Métrica", "Artminding", "Sol Eterno", "Empore" and "Living Like Birds". He has strengthened his position in the electronic music scene by his now long-standing residency in the well-known German club "Die Rakete" in Nuremberg.

Session 017 - Paul Schmidpeter

Although the digital sun shines bright in Tulum always we would say there are some tunes which could be labelled as winter music typically. @igor_bartyuk (from mountainous Caucasian) and @valon_music (from ice-cold Sweden) are the masters of this genre and we're more than happy to work with them on a deep journey up here.

The title track is a very good example how to build a vibe staying low and strange only, very well tested, very well working out, low risk on "Deceit And Pretense". And what deceit and pretense means these times? We'll leave it on you to imagine, hehe.

"Blatant Case" is almost a B side - if you know what B side is - but how the world and dancefloors resonates on sorrowful and dark music we agreed on to include, and to be honest is also a great one. The door opening horror part is our favorite, can feel the tension and see trouble with our third eye after entering the room.

Last year a fan hit us with a really cool feedback on our set and said "noise with a purpose". Licensing his thought on this one.

First single, ‘Look At My A**’ sees Yet More and Assayag merge artistic personas once again - and this time showing us a bit of sass. Bustling a bold, thumping bassline, and laced with shallow, rattling kicks and whirring sirens, the duo swear solemnly to their tried-and-tested vocal sample formula. Tongue in cheek, flowing with high-octane energy, this is a satirical dance floor groover which stimulates the senses to make them sway and swell.
