OTW Premiere: No Patterns - Depth Charge [Monk Audio]

Beats In Mind presents Headsbass is BACK just in time for Mental Health Week. This year's focus is nature. Since they launched in Spring 2020, Beats In Mind have raised over £2k for mental health charities and nearly 120 drum n bass producers have joined the Headsbass family, donating their music for free so they can give it all to charity.

Label owner Nick The Lot returns and delivers more creative mayhem with this latest release.

Since ‘Rise Above/One Of Them’, Nick’s had singles on Twisted’s Grid Recordings and Tyke’s Holographic Audio as well as appearing on a couple of Various Artists projects on Jungle Cakes and Gradient Records.

Unlike the title suggests there is nothing pear shaped about this EP, just Nick performing an incantation and unleashing a collection of filthy gritty beats which will have you hooked and wanting more.

This is 'A Living Nightmare', released on the Pear Shaped EP on 11th June.

A love letter to the extended Emphaseas family, this powerhouse release brings together a diverse lineup of artists who push the boundaries of Drum & Bass, Bass music, and everything in between.

Trouble

Charlie Milan Cummings, professionally known as Amalgamate, is a UK-based Drum & Bass producer hailing from the Welsh capital of Cardiff. 

As is suggested by the alias, his productions amalgamate an array of musical influences, all of which glue together to form a crisp, dynamic, and high-octane frenzy of 170BPM fuelled sounds. His debut EP, ‘Destroy Humans’, provides the perfect snapshot into this, with a melodic frenzy of synths, stabs, and succulent sound design, reesy manoeuvres, colourful percussive plucks, and blistering bass processing at the forefront of the project. 

As well as producing, Charlie is the founder of the D&B record label @breakbeatsandbasslines , which aims to bring a new dimension of fresh, high-octane, and idiosyncratic sounds to the genre. Also a freelance music journalist and MA student at Cardiff University, Amalgamate is dedicated to pursuing a life abundant with the music that he loves.
