Life, for the sake of balance, is made up not only of joyful stories (and situations), but also of sad ones, sometimes deeply sorrowful. With this track, I didn’t want to tell a sad story. Instead, it’s a story about a good, wonderful, truly remarkable person. This is about my father-in-law, who was like a father to me, and who passed away exactly 40 days ago…

- The Story Behind the Track

After I received the news of this sad event, I did what I always do: I went to my studio. In a way, our family had been “expecting” this moment, since we knew the diagnosis and understood what was coming. Still, it was painful, bitter, and incredibly difficult…

The world stops when you lose someone close. And when it’s a dearly beloved one, for a moment, the whole Universe seems to pause…

To somehow cope with the overwhelming emotions and make this moment a bit softer, to distract myself, I decided to create what you are about to hear (or maybe are already hearing). I was struck by an incredible surge of creative energy, an impulse that kept telling me — do it, do it, do it…

So I sat down and did it. More precisely, I took one of my older works and completely reimagined it, expanding and developing the idea much further.

In some mysterious flow, I remembered an old composition I had once made for stock music. It fit the mood, the concept, and the idea perfectly.

This track started playing in my mind as the foundation, and then, as often happens with me, the rest just flowed out. I had long wanted to turn this short piece into something more substantial. Finally, it happened. And when I finished it, I’ll be honest — I felt a real sense of relief, as if a weight had been lifted…

There are no words in this track. There are only restrained, masculine tears (though, who am I kidding, at times during the process they were anything but restrained; I was genuinely overcome several times while working on the track).

But there is also bright, kind, and everlasting memory woven into the music.

I didn’t want to make something overly sad or mournful. No. On the contrary, I craved something inspiring, light, dreamy, airy, and luminous. Something vivid, rich, and beautiful. Something that makes you want to soar…

- About the Person This Track Is About

This was my father-in-law. For more than 20 years, he was like a father to me. A man of great kindness, fairness, and honesty. Charismatic and cheerful. A wonderful father to his children and a fantastic grandfather to his grandchildren. His life wasn’t always easy, but it was often bright, rich, joyful, positive, and truly happy.

All of this is what I tried to express through the music. This is the kind, bright memory I wanted to capture in this piece.

The track contains not just a piece of the soul, but a piece of the life.

If you listen to it attentively, from start to finish, without distractions, and if you feel a little lump in your throat — but at the same time find an inexplicable smile and a sense of calm inside — then I know I’ve succeeded in what I set out to do.
