Just found a folder with loads of older tracks, from 2012 for example and some are pretty nice. I threw a new sample library on this one, some small eq with my more experienced mixing and I think the outcome is pretty nice.

Story
Tabumanco
In ancient times, when the sky still spoke to the earth and the trees whispered secrets to the wind, the Tabumanco walked among men. They were not gods, but neither were they mere mortals. They were ancestral spirits, born from the fire of volcanoes and the salty breath of the ocean. Their skin shone like wet obsidian, and their eyes held the brilliance of storms.
Each island had its Tabumanco. On Malekula lived Nakaré, the one who wove the rains with invisible threads. On Tanna, Vanué reigned, she who ignited the volcanoes when the wrath of the ancestors burned. On Pentecost, Lirama danced, he who blessed the harvests with his root drum.
The villagers knew that their fate hung on the whims of these beings. If they honored them with songs, dances, and offerings of yam and kava, the Tabumanco brought abundance. But if they forgot, if the drum fell silent or the ritual fire went out, then came the droughts, the fevers, the cyclones that ripped off the palm roofs.
Once, on the island of Ambrym, a young man named Toma defied custom. “Why fear those we cannot see?” he asked. “Aren’t we the ones who cultivate the land and fish the sea?” His voice rose like the song of a rebellious bird, and many began to doubt.
But that night, the sky split in two. A thunderous crash without rain shook the village. The palm trees bowed as if greeting an invisible visitor. And in the center of the village, a figure appeared, shrouded in smoke and coral: it was Tabumanco Nakaré, his face sculpted from the wind.
“It is not fear we ask for,” he said in a voice that seemed to rise from the depths of the sea, “but memory. We are the root of your tree. Forget us, and the tree will wither.”
Since then, every full moon, the islanders gather in a circle, sing the stories of the Tabumanco, and let the fire speak. For they know that the ancestral spirits have not departed. They only wait, invisible, in the murmur of the waves and the trembling of the earth.
