On June 26th, Kowtow Records are unveiling a reinterpretation of Sébastien Forrester's track 'Spiral Column' featuring @glitter00, off the 'Spirals' EP, in a clubbier form. Forrester remixes his own track under his Afraa moniker, using his signature war drums, sound design elements and ecclesiastic pads to turn 'Column' into a fierce, menacing dance piece. Felis Catus, multi-instrumentalist and member of French pop outfit INÜIT @thisisinuit, reworks the song in an eerie, elegant way, building layers of reverbed beats and vocal manipulations to maximum effect. Brussels-based Moroccan musician Cheb Runner @cheb-runner, fka Gan Gah, eminent connoisseur of Gnawa music, reveals the song's traditional background in a fresh and unexpected way, adding vintage drum machines and synthesizers to the mix. To finish, DJ JM @deejay_jm's rework brings 'Column' even closer to the club, and sees the Copenhagen-based producer, Nervous Horizon-signee, deploy his recognisable, explosive hard drum sound.
