ADR (Additional Dialogue Recording)

to be clear, i know
i'm dumb as i ever was
i'm just older now
afraid i'm just not a wise

i stay in most nights
peeking out through the blinds
or i take a drive
through the familliar haunts

if these roads could speak
what would they ask of me
i don't think they's say
anything that i'd need

i should read a book
or simply just call a friend
but instead i glance 
down at the riverbed

of all the faults i've got
trust me, i know they're mine
at the very least
i could say i tried

as dumb as i ever was (i tried)

my bones drag
like they're made of stone
this body won't decay
if it was never really my own
and if it never felt like home

the cowboys racing in the stride, such pride
proclaim the glory of the ones who died
the march is coming up, quicker soon
so raise your glass at the old saloon
the heads of all the conquered seem to smile

at dawn, they'll torch it all- surprise, surprise
with liquor in their guts and murder in their eyes
but now, sit down, and they'll call you friend
but this is just a means to an end
or don't you know that cowboys always lie?

but you're no fool, you know you can survive- survive
you just don't see the evil in their heart or minds
so call a treaty or call your mom
your words are the powder in their bomb
but you have got those cowboys by your side
