Over the past year, a selection of artists have been digging through the depths of their creative pursuits, for material they either cannot finish, or else would like to see adapted. These same artists and more have delved into the resulting repertoire, and emerged with new, repurposed pieces.

Out of this births the first volume of the Sustain Series: a means for artists to make use of old sounds, hoping to bring forward music that might have otherwise not seen the light of day. Thanks to the input from a variety of fantastic musicians, old material can breathe new life, sometimes in more than one form.

In keeping with this 'recycling' of ideas, all proceeds of the compilation here on Bandcamp will go to Conservation International, promoting sustainability and conservation across the world.

In 2019, after many albums recorded in that year, I decided to not concentrate on releases for a while, and I started to focus only on experimentation of single tracks the most of them extemporaneous. 

I felt some good feelings, a bit like going back to the beginning, playing following instinct without being caged by a concept. 
I collected a lot of music and I realized that that a group of songs have a strong overall sense that I called Little Drops.

Jeremy Young recently released Filaments on Eliane Tapes, Moving Furniture's sporadic series of work inspired by the remarkable French composer Éliane Radigue. The series was inaugurated with a release by Kassel Jaeger back in early 2018, and after a long silence two new tapes have just been released. To mark this occasion, we invited Young to produce a mix. Like me, Young is an American living in Montréal, Canada, so it was also nice to discover some connections between us. Young works primarily with reel-to-reel tape and contact miked objects and has worked on a wide variety of projects including sound-poetry and audio-visual scoring. We at ACL have long been fans of Jeremy's solo work as szilárd, and especially his trio Sontag Shogun and their predecessor (The) Slowest Runner (In All The World). And so it is our great pleasure to present Je Suis Mon Absence.
