How do we parent in a digital age? This talk goes far beyond the regulation of Internet usage and dives into a sustained cultural and economic analysis in conflict. We have an economy that demands the results of highly skilled knowledge work, but a culture focused on instant gratification and shallow social experiences. How this affects us as adults and as employees also affects how we parent in response to youth culture today.

The crisis of today is the crisis of the interior life. We are not praying with a fervent heart and a focused mind. We are not walking with Christ, while we have the arrogance to work for his Church in his name. This is the crisis of today. This is why we read, slowly and patiently, The Soul of the Apostolate.

Crisis of the Church Today

Koinonia- the Church of God is composed of the faithful who are clergy, consecrated, and laity. What is the nature and mission of the laity? We explore this, clericalism, I hint at reverse-clericalism but then never say anything about it, and then I talk about Heaven and Hell. We get a question on consolation vs desolation in Mass and in Class, so I end the talk with some stories of prayer and Ignatian Spirituality.

The lead track from the EP is named 'Spitfire' - an adaptation of the 1942 propaganda film 'The First of the Few', telling the story of the origins of the talismanic fighter. The track is a driving, Krautrock-influenced tune and the video stars Hollywood legends David Niven & Leslie Howard.

Howard was viewed by Josef Goebbels as the most dangerous British propagandist of the era and his own life was to end in tragedy when the passenger plane he was travelling on in 1943 was shot down by the Luftwaffe over the Bay of Biscay.

'The War Room EP' is dedicated to J. Willgoose, Esq.'s great-uncle, George Willgoose, who died at the Battle of Dunkirk in May 1940 aged 26. The final track of the EP, 'Waltz for George', is a sombre close to affairs, featuring the banjolele owned and played by George Willgoose which has remained in the family.
