EMA - Electronic Music Anthem is pleased to present Jickow on 'Sounds Of Krafted'.

Born in the south of France, Jickow is a DJ, producer and event organiser who has carved out a place for himself in the world of electronic music.

It all started in the south of France, between Montpellier and Marseille, where Jickow has been shaking up the electro scene. DJ, artistic director, manager of a booking agency, he is at the heart of the night world.

It is finally in Belgium that Jickow has fully blossomed as an essential part of the Brussels nightlife. After a 4-year break, he came back with the "Hedonism Party Crew" project which was a real success in Brussels. Since then, the collective's parties have reached new clubs such as Club Vaag in Antwerp or Rex Club in Paris.

After all these years in the nightclub scene, Jickow has developed an intimate relationship with music and takes the time to produce because Jickow is a lover of melodies, sound and rhythm which he then takes pleasure in sharing with the public.

In the last two years, his productions have been released on Movement Recordings, Resopal Schallware (vinyl and digital), Natura Viva, Area Verde or Deep House Belgium & Beatfreak with the support of big names in electronic music, such as Solomun, Âme, Sven Vath, Armin Van Buuren, Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn, Dubfire, Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold, Damian Lazarus, Maceo Plex, Joseph Capriati, Sasha, Marco Carola and many more...

MarekSPolzki is a Techno DJ and producer based in Warsaw, with a preference for groove and experimental sounds. His fascination with Techno music and culture began over 20 years ago. Formerly releasing music under the alias "mRs," MarekSPolzki returned to music production last year after 9 years break. Charlotte de Witte continues to establish herself as a driving force on the contemporary techno scene with The Healer, her second EP on seminal British imprint Novamute. 

The four tracker comes after the Belgian has fully broken through with a dark, dense and driving sound that is proudly unrelenting. Her meteoric rise has come off the back of a series of huge productions, plus standout sets at key festivals and clubs all around the world. 

Charlotte’s fresh and innovative sound is immediately laid bare on opener ‘The Healer’, with eight minutes of spine-tingling, hypnotic techno. The sleek drums and icy hi-hats soon cast their spell, as well-crafted synths unfold up top to bring real emotion. ‘Silence’ is another slice of tunnel vision techno with perfectly designed drums rolling on and synths peeling off the groove. It’s trance inducing and otherworldly, with eerie voices adding to the all-consuming atmosphere. 

Then comes ‘Kuda’, a track built on monstrous kicks that hit hard and drive forward with real force. Filtered vocals bring character, and sharp edged percussion grows ever louder to take the track, and the club, to the next level. Last of all, ‘Song Of The Wood Nymphs’ shows another side to the producer with three minutes of suspensory synths and expansive ambient sounds that are filled with drama and tension.

Following on from the steamroller that was 'Carnival of Souls', Respekt's top brass are back with a fresh two-tracker. 'Gates of Dawn' gets the ball rolling with a hefty tip of the cap to Spektre's ravey roots. Searing, gated sawtooth riffs are peppered with breakbeat chops and of-the-era vocal hits to devastating effect. 
The second part of this double A-side is the more introspective 'Something Inside Us', on which the duo keeps the energy levels high, blending mesmerising, acidic melodies with cinematic pads and a scene-setting vocal sample.
The remix package adds yet more colours to the release's palette, with top notch reinterpretations from Loco & Jam and Vinicius Honorio.

Beico & MT93 are back on Unrilis with a new four-track EP in the style they have previously championed on other labels such as Terminal M, Respekt, Kraftek and Suara.

The Argentinian duo’s last release on Unrilis picked up support from artists ranging from Adam Beyer to Slam, and this one is a much anticipated follow up.

Opening the EP is “Reflection Intro” which ramps up the tension with slow-building synths and dramatic bass stabs. The original mix of “Reflection” is next on the EP with its rattling hi-hats and pounding kick drum fused with the namesake vocal sample.

Second of the original cuts is “Tenebrous” that combines a flickering lead synth with explosive tom drums and thrashing off-beat hats. “Real Faces” closes the EP with its pulsating bass synth overplayed with bursts of euphoria perfect for maximum dance floor impact.

Against a Dark Background – the full-length studio album from long-standing British techno duo, Spektre – will be released in early 2020 on Pleasurekraft’s esteemed Kraftek imprint.

Following their critically-acclaimed debut album Casting Shadows Without Light in 2010 and their sophomore outing Cyclic Operations in 2013, Against a Dark Background will be the third studio long-player from partners Paul Maddox and Rich Wakley, who have been producing together under the Spektre moniker since 2006.

Currently in the top five-selling techno artists worldwide and with over 500,000 streams per month on Spotify, Spektre have taken the electronic music world by storm over the past few years, with their forward-thinking productions and high-intensity live performances resonating with legions of loyal techno fans across all corners of the globe.

Now key ambassadors for British dance music on a global level, Spektre’s chart-topping productions have received high praise from the likes of Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Pleasurekraft and Alan Fitzpatrick and the duo are often hailed as one of the most exciting acts to emerge onto the UK techno scene over the past decade.

Talking about the forthcoming album, Spektre commented:

It had been over 5 years since the release of 'Cyclic Operations' when we first started work on the new album in earnest, so we wanted it to be a representation of how our music has evolved in that intervening period. The writing process itself was a lot more reductive than the previous two albums. We holed ourselves up for a few months and hammered out loads and loads of ideas, then filtered and refined the pool through playing them out and getting feedback from a few trusted pairs of ears, until "Against a Dark Background" began to crystallise into its final form.

Premiere: Spektre - What Once Was Lost

One of Drumcode’s most indispensable talents, Tiger Stripes blesses us with another classy two-tracker.

In the last 11 years Mikael Nordgren aka Tiger Stripes has appeared on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels a total of eight times. The Swede has a masterful command of his machines and is an inspired sound designer, imbuing his productions with bags of creativity and cross-genre futurism. His last outing on DC ‘Into Isolation’ was a colourful five-piece of super-charged techno, reinforcing the breadth and strength of his studio work. Nine months on, we have another offering to add to the canon.

‘Jack The Garage’ is a fast and furious leader, mixing up jacking dancefloor functionalism with raw and distorted sounds inspired by garage rock bands such as The 13 Floor Elevators and The Stooges. ‘Back in Black’ draws influence from unlikely sources, Nordgren mining latent inspiration from the smooth synthesized sounds of Travis Scott after his daughter introduced him to the hip-hop maestro. The resulting cut is a slick slice of electro-fuelled techno, with as many sides as a rubik cube, as bass stabs, muffled vocal effects and distorted guitar stabs keep things interesting throughout.

Amelie Lens has taken the techno scene to another level, with her unrelenting passion for the genre, with a strong message that she always was, and always will be a raver at heart.

Amelie‘s debut release in 2016 marked the beginning of her distinguished career. Since then, she has released music on many of the industry‘s leading labels and contributed to the prestigious Global Underground City mix series. Amelie is a regular headliner at major festivals such as Awakenings, Sonar, Timewarp, and Tomorrowland’s mainstage. Additionally, she performs at renowned club venues across the globe.

Fast forward to 2024 and Amelie is heading her labels Lenske and EXHALE Records, running her party series EXHALE, holds down an extensive touring schedule and hosts her own radio show. The show now streams online and broadcasts on 34 radio stations across the globe, reaching nearly 5 million listeners with every episode.

Amelie has been focused on her signature sound, emphasised by the use of her own vocals. She wants to capture audiences that may not always be there for techno but feel connected after discovering something new.
