Crawling out from under Austin's rock and alt-country scenes of the last ten years, SECRETARIAT plays a brand of music that doesn’t fit easily into any category. Elements of rootsy Americana, middle finger punk, and straight up bar rock all swirl together to create a beautiful sound. With members coming off of sweat drenched tenures in bands like The Action Is, Firecracker, Hotwheels Jr, and Lions, SECRETARIAT is definitely the sum of its parts.

 

Aching songs of love and loss, sung in a desperate twang, surrounded by snarling, buzzing guitars. Drums that hit much harder than you’d expect, but exactly as hard as you need them to. Bass surging along on a steady roll that drives every song inexorably forward. Soaring harmonies and choruses that get stuck in your head for days.
