True to the collaborative creative ethos that lies at the core of Berlin's arts scene, this latest release from Sous Music is very much a home-grown entity. Featuring the production talents of Tesla286 & Freestyle Man who, along with Anja Schneider, are partners in the production, mixing and mastering house, Blackhead Studios, it was inevitable that a collaboration would eventually flourish from this day-to-day working arrangement.

Tesla286, best known for the 2014 'Zukunft' album on Berlin's All You Can Beat label, can count the likes of Modeselektor, Jonas Kopp and Alexander Kowalski amongst the fans of their old school electro sound. Freestyle Man has been active since mid 90s, releasing on seminal labels such as Sähkö Recordings and Moodmusic, as well as more recently working with Kornél Kovács, Petter Nordkvist and Axel Boman's Studio Barnhaus imprint and Endless Flight, sub-label of the influential Mule Musiq from Japan.

Title track 'Time Dilation' sets the tone for the release with a mystical fusion of minimalist breaks and deep house chords that moves smoothly through the gears via tripped out pads and mysterious harmonics, set atop an infectious bouncing groove of swaying hypnotic funk.

'Yssabeau' continues to explore the theme of electro minimalism as waves of left-of-centre deepness entwine with refined harmonies that delicately wrap around the instantly memorable, freaked-out voice of infamous German actor Klaus Kinski to create charm all of its own.

Anja Schneider's remix takes 'Yssabeua' in a 4/4 direction, reconstructing Kinski's vocal and morphing the arrangement to a more dancefloor fit that combines a punchy groove with a liquid flow of shimmering, playful ascending riffs, creating a feel-good ambient house vibe.
