I am a songwriter from Belfast. I record my own songs at home (unless otherwise stated) with a pretty basic set-up. I usually like to keep things simple as I think that a good song should stand on its own, when stripped back of superfluous baggage.
I play a few different instruments but mainly guitar and piano. I have been trying to play slide guitar.
 I record in as few takes as possible. I don't like my own voice and don't really listen to my own work after I have recorded and mixed it. I hope some people out there enjoy it, I get a kick out of writing and recording, and playing the occasional gig. I am in this for the long haul but I don't suppose I'll go far.
 I will try to upload as much as possible. Most of these tracks will probably be rough home demos and possibly a few covers as well. Thank you for stopping by my page. Please feel free to add me via Youtube as well.

80’s tinged, electronic pop. Both musically and lyrically, VOKXEN draw influences on Irish folklore, feminism and cult film. 'As seen on' BBC 2, (TV Series, I Lár an Aonaigh, December 18’) & Listed as ‘one to watch’ for 2019 by Dublin’s The Last Mixed Tape. 

Single ‘Running’ was released February 2018. The song was well received with reviews from Clash Music & a feature from Hot Press Magazine as ‘Track of the Day’. Running also achieved a commercial radio playlisted spot on, Cool FM. Bewitching single, ‘Crystal Eyes’ followed this success, in November 2018. The song was inspired by the writings of Film critic, Laura Mulvey; Feminist theory, ‘The Male Gaze’ with lyrics based on the 80’s cult film classic ‘The Dark Crystal’. 

VOKXEN were a ‘Scratch’ Act in 2016 with Oh Yeah Music Centre & have since performed at top NI festivals and showcases such as Output Belfast, Stendhal Festival & ‘Women’s Work’ festival as well as international performances in vibrant music cities such as Berlin.

He lists among his influences Mike Scott, THe 4 of Us, Eddie Vedder, The Hot House Flowers and Bill Mallonee and the Vigilantees of Love.  Al performs solo acoustic and also with a number of other musicians.  He believes a good song should be able to be stripped back to a heartfelt acoustic performance.

Matteo Zaccagnino is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter based in Italy. He started his musical journey as a beatmaker, then slowly turned to the drums; later he switched to bass and played in local ethnic-folk bands. In the meanwhile, he practiced his guitar and singing skills influenced by artists such as Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Alt-j. As natural as it could be, original music started to flow out of this filled-to-the-brim melting pot, resulting in his 12-track album Motel Room, out in 2019.
