Long in the making, Amiensus started recording Restoration as far back as Winter 2010. Setting out, we had no real idea what it's destination would be in terms of what we wanted it to sound like. We simply wanted to make a unique metal album that blended beauty and decay harmoniously. 

We then recorded it ourselves in our own homes/dorm rooms and finished Fall of 2011. We sent it off sent it off to Ken Sorceron [Abigail Williams] to mix/master it as well as re-amp our guitars, drums, and keyboards and somewhat produce it. 

The album's music and lyrics partly reflect/explore many personal things that members of the band have been through. For many of us, what we were writing about was exactly what we were dealing with at the time. Many times was our therapy and our release. Restoration also discusses psychological, theological, and religious concepts.
