The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is the most powerful healing mantra that I know of. It arises out of the Rg Veda, as Shiva in His manifestation of "Supreme Victory over Death". The mantra and yantra have been used for a long time for healing, avoiding accidental death, and dealing with the fear of death.
