As co-workers of the legendary, snobby Amsterdam-based record store Concerto long-time friends Z!P and Tom Waist met each other musically mid-2007 through the release of a mix cd by Boris Dlugosch entitled Radio Disco. Intrigued by the shocking similarity in taste for electronic music, the two decided to do a few mix sessions together.

Tom Waist had, by that time, been dj-ing for about four years without getting any real exposure. Though he had become an unofficial resident dj of Club 8’s popular Robo tRock party. Zip, meanwhile, had been fine-tuning his dj-technique in the private surroundings of his bedroom. After a few sessions the duo realized that the collaboration was just what their dj-sets needed and so they amazed friend and foe when they showed up at RobotRock’s two year anniversary…together. That particular party would be the start of an amazingly rich collaboration and the beginning of HOMEWORK’s history. Never again would the two be seen without their signature dress code: white shirts and black ties.

Since then HOMEWORK has murdered dance floors all over Amsterdam with their enthusiastic style and blogger banging electro tunes. Their taste embraces the entire electro spectrum, from Ed Banger to Turbo and from Boys Noize to Kitsuné.
Both in form and in function HOMEWORK takes their inspiration from dj’s like Tiga and Soulwax and from artists such as Justice< /a> and Daft Punk.
