Hailing from the depths of the industrial city of Juárez México, Artur, a sunset driven desert revolutionary has enamored the southern California deep house/techno scene since early 2012. 

Based in LA and member of Akashic Records & Borderless Project, he continues to craft the rich tunes and beats venerable of a resplendent, nomadic lifestyle. He gained interest and impeccable taste in music through the influence of the all too famous HardPop and the ever growing popularity of the electronic music genre. 

His sets are dosed with vibrant electronica, cutting edge techno, and ethereal house with the sudden, magnetic rhythm of tribal house and riveting minimal. Artur has also shared the stage with multi cultural artists like Lemurian, Dubelu, Ali Farahani, and Milo Hafliger.

Herbs are almost as basic in Mexico today as they were in pre-Hispanic days. With today's spiraling cost of manufactured medicines, many Mexicans who live in the cities are now resorting to pre-Columbian remedies still commonly used in the rural areas. Traditionally, the poor seek medical attention from “curanderos”, or natural healers; the middle-class and upper class Mexicans usually see a medical doctor. But when they are desperate, they switch over.

The ancient Mesoamerican peoples developed to a high degree a prehispanic agriculture base don major crop, now widely studied and worldwide distributed. These crops were based on maize, beans, chili peppers, etc. Most of the Mesoamerican culture area is considered an important world center of plant origin and diversity. The three most complete Works on the knowledge and utilization of the flora by the Indians in prehispanic Mexico.

A significant segment of the Mexican population believes that curing with plants is slower but safer and less expensive than using drugs developed in a laboratory, which are often derivatives of the same plants. These homemade cures are especially appreciated for common, everyday ailments because they are known to cause fewer side effects than modern medicines.

As you might have guess, Dance Spirit has been making well-crafted waves in the music scene and always on the rise.

This initially started off as a mix of our favorite electronica tunes, but we started going through our personal vaults and found we had a surprising amount of material that would constitute the perfect ambient mix while showcasing a different shade of color other than dance. We’re fast approaching 4PM on a crisp but sunny Sunday afternoon in Romania. We’re at Sunwaves Festival. “For a DJ, it really doesn’t get better than this” says Amir with a genuine smile, nearing his 13th hour in the mix. The crowd is very much into it. I’m told by a mutual friend that he had won them over since the early hours of the morning when he dropped Gemini’s “Swimming with Sharks”.
Montreal-based Amir Javasoul is somewhat of a DJ’s DJ. Having grown up in Iran, he moved to Canada at the age of 10 where he learned the ropes of DJing after a Derrick Carter set in the mid-nineties sparked a long- standing affinity with the profession. Since then, and for the past 20 years, he’s been balancing his work as a computer engineer and music selector, maintaining an active touring schedule, both in North America and Europe. He’s a regular mainstay at some of the world’s finest clubs and festivals (Fabric, Stereo, SXM Festival, Output, Uberhaus, Piknik Electronik, Sunwaves, Igloofest to name a few)

It’s important to point out that Amir’s profile has not been supported by a release on a well-known label; rather, he has taken the organic route, finding acclaim through his skills in the DJ booth alone. “I’m finally at a point where I’m happy with the results in the studio as a producer. Maher Daniel and I formed Creatures of Habit a few years ago, and since then we’ve put out a few tracks that are getting heavy play by some of our friends and colleagues”. He’s referring to Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, Rhadoo or Apollonia, who all have been supporting the music released by the duo.
“But don’t get me wrong. I will always be a DJ first. That’s what I love to do the most, and I know I can make a difference when I walk into the booth. Passion creates love and love creates confidence. For me the feeling of knowing that I can have an impact when I DJ is just priceless. I don’t take it for granted of course and I stay grounded, but being able to share my passion with the crowd, live and instantly is really something special. It never gets old”
After a ten-year stint living in Paris where he held residencies at all the main venues in the city, Amir moved back to Montreal, Canada. Today he splits his time between Berlin and Montreal, regularly collaborating on tours with Ricardo Villalobos.
“Ricardo, alongside Derrick Carter, are the reason why I do this today. I’m extremely lucky to have met them both and to be able to call them friends. Rici and I have spent a good amount of time lately, playing many shows and festivals together. We have a super energy when it comes to DJing together but I can only dream of ever getting close to his all-around musical genius in the studio. But I learn from him every day. And what I learn the most, is to always stay humble no matter what, and to always have fun in the process. This is very important”
