Jickow kicks off brand new label Olympe Music with a first single that gets big remixes from melodic heavy-weight producers Ten Walls and Robert Babicz.

Burakumin is a former untouchable group in Japan at the bottom of the traditional social hierarchy. Even abolished, their descendants continued to face stigmatization and discrimination in Japan.
Throughout that track, Jickow wanted to pay them a tribute.

Burakumin is a deep and slow bring prog house tune. The melodies are poised and build carefully, lifting your spirits and taking you to the stars. It is a genuinely hypnotic roller. Ten Walls Remix gets edgier, with sharper chords and dancing drums making for a melodic tech vibe to get you in a trance. Last but not least, Robert Babicz then rounds out with a more supple and minimal vibe that rolls late into the night.

The goldfish man sat down willingly on a stone seat and found a fragrant cup of tea in his hand. The children clamored around Ba, each more excited than the last and eager for the story to begin. But as Ma went inside the house to get refreshments, she left the door wide open and the goldfish man could not help peering in. He could see all the way through the house to the back courtyard where the figure of a young girl sat on a bench, a small pond of fish at her feet. The moonlight washed over everything like a rich bath of gold and silver, making the fish shimmer like pearls and the girl glow with a magical glory reserved for the stars of heaven. But Minli was obviously unaware of all around her, lost in faraway dreams. For even in the misty light, the goldfish man could see her smiling a secret smile up to the sky to where the mountain meets the moon. The Neighbors are coming back home and they have the sun and the moon and the skies in their hands. This is their first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can save a warm place inside your heart.

This set was recorded on a beautiful (and freakin' warm) Friday afternoon in northern Israel's Lake Kinneret. I had a great time playing these slow beats for our local burn community and my camp family.
