Rawa Club (@rawaclub ) presenta su primer EP del año a cargo de Lukrø (@lukr0), productor & DJ multi-género peruanx con base en CDMX y co-fundador/director del sello Matraca.

En este EP colaborativo Lukrø nos presenta dos featurings, el primer track y el que podremos escuchar en esta premiere es 'Picosa' con el productor venezolano Data High (@joniforest ) y el segundo con el mexicano El Chico Callado, uno de los principales exponentes del resurgimiento del tribal guarachero en México.

Además el EP se completa con dos remixes, uno con autoría de SEWA (@sewayootu ), productora, sound designer y multi-instrumentista basada en Austin, Texas quien a través de sus producciones busca incorporar su herencia yaqui a sus producciones de "cyber tribal". El ultimo remix a cargo de Gj Leith (@user-797925826 ), productora, DJ, cantante y escritora originaria de Marruecos y establecida actualmente en Marrakech y aborda géneros de las periferias globales como el footwork, baile funk, dancehall o shatta, entre otros, fusionándolos con la música de su país.

wrk.dat is not an artist of many words. The munich-based record collector and dj rather lets his audio visions, which oscillate between experimental ambient and fast shimmering techno, flourish on Bandcamp with various alter egos. Xylit is a 160bpm jungletekno track with riotous potential. Breaking Character on 100 bpm is a hiphop diss track instrumental - or a Gescom homage?

Además el EP se completa con dos remixes, uno con autoría de SEWA , productora, sound designer y multi-instrumentista basada en Austin, Texas quien a través de sus producciones busca incorporar su herencia yaqui a sus producciones de "cyber tribal" y otro remix a cargo de Gj Leith , productora, DJ, cantante y escritora originaria de Marruecos y establecida actualmente en Marrakech,quién se interesa por abordar géneros de las periferias globales como el footwork, el baile funk, el dancehall, el shatta entre otros. 

El arte fue realizado por César Martínez Maldonado, artista visual, diseñador, y entusiasta de la escena de música electrónica local originario de Oaxaca, México. Su trabajo gráfico es una reflexión visual y sonora sobre la cultura pop, sus influencias en el lenguaje de masas y los procesos de identificación generacionales con ciertos personajes de ficción por un lado, y por el otro, una reflexión y apropiación del caótico lenguaje del arte urbano.

Lukrø x El Chico Callado - Choqewillka

Polish Juke’s first release of the year (and in over a year!) comes from a home-team heavyweight. Half of the iconic We Rob Rave duo, DJ, producer and engineer whose sonic imprint is present throughout the label’s catalogue - from his own productions all the way to his mastering work. Dubsknit, this time under an eerily similar alias SKNIT, delivers another installment into his extensive discography right to your doorstep in the form of a hectic six-tracker - “LOOP”.

To kick things off, right off the bat we’re hit with a loud and blasting double-header of “SLUSH” and “HEAT”, where thick kicks intertwine with synthetic and roaring sounds and skeletal melodies. As the artist himself mentions, to go a little bit against the grain of the infamous, lush WRR work, he decided to strip things down a notch and focus on the electro-infused, dubby bare bones of dance music. Right in the middle of the record, we’re headed into ravier territories, with four-to-the-floor, very Chicago-esque aesthetics of “FOOSY” and beautiful vocal chops of the energetic “YO FREE”. What follows is a peak-time bomb with the We Rob Rave running mate PZG called “BLOOD” which will most definitely turn out to be both a crowd and DJ favourite. To shut things off, SKNIT serves the halftime-leaning, euphoric “I COULD LOVE” with yet another example of his amazing understanding of working around vocals, reminiscent of the many hits in the We Rob Rave/Dubsknit realm.

This is, in essence, a remix of "Energia Pesante" from the album "Industria 2000" (from 1974, way ahead of its time) by the Italian experimental/jazz composer known as Jarrell (allegedly Amedeo Tommasi). I sampled a few more tracks off that album for transitions and variation, which I've listed below.

Otherwise, there's not much more to say about it. It's fast, bass-thumping techno with no clear tonal center and minimalist tendencies, but not quite enough to be called Minimal Techno.
