Soulutionary One is the long-awaited new album from singer/songwriter Stephanie Nicole. Ever since she dropped her Voices EP back in the spring of 2013, excited ripples have been circulating among the neo-soul cognoscenti about this California-based songstress, and she doesn’t disappoint with this fine set, once again reuniting her with co-producer /co-writer and soulmate Craig Perkins, a.k.a. Classroom Craig. 

Like many a successful artist before her, Stephanie had a stint on stage doing The Wiz, but as well as musical theatre, she also has a background in classical music back in her native Virginia, working with many renowned composers and conductors and picking up awards as she went (the ‘Festival Choir’ competition won three years in a row 1999-2001 as a member of the Select Women’s Ensemble). 

Firmly in the tradition of Erykah Badu, Macy Gray and India Arie, Stephanie writes socially-conscious and spiritually uplifting material tinged with her diverse influences drawn from rock, classical and jazz. Real instruments supply a full tone palette for the eclectic range of moods and styles, from the almost post-punk vibe of Replenish to the ‘cosmic’ eastern drone of Maha Meditation. 

Having gigged extensively in both Virginia and Cali in support of the aforementioned EP, Stephanie has also already been included in BamaLoveSoul’s compilation of new music, On Deck 2, and the track Diligence in particular has been receiving lots of attention from discerning critics and DJs everywhere. Oskar Schuster is a German composer and artist, living in Berlin. His songs without words evoke a fairytale-world, strange and surreal. A world full of blurry images of the past; of childhood memories and characters from children’s books; of clicking and ticking clocks and ever-looping music boxes, of far-away-lands, far-away-seas, far-away-skies, far-away-everythings. At times reminiscent of Yann Tiersen's Amélie, his music is still very distinct, arising from a mixture of various influences including experimental electronic music (Aphex Twin, Pogo), the minimalist folk-pop of Beirut, the ethereal and mystical sounds of Sigur Rós as well as classical piano music by Robert Schumann and Frédéric Chopin. As a true self-made artist, he not only plays all the instruments and produces the music by himself, but also creates his own music videos and designs most of the artwork by himself. 

In 2011, he released his debut album, Dear Utopia, followed 2014 by Sneeuwland and 2015 by Tristesse Télescopique which he managed to produce with the help of successful crowdfunding campaigns. Abandoning the traditional full length album format, he continues to regularely release new EPs and singles, such as Singur in 2016, Záhada in 2017 and Maribel in 2018.

Fully formed and let loose late on in 2013, Geistfight have been establishing themselves within the UK Ska and Punk scene as the "go to guys" for a fast paced, energetic, venue-bouncing skacore/punk showcase.

For fans of contemporaries such as Farse, Capdown, RX Bandits, Adequate Seven, Strung Out, No Comply, Howards Alias etc, the sound of the 90's and early 00's third wave advances again. Whilst including a heavier, riff driven groove with epic breakdowns and marching beats, Geistfight maintain that dance-inducing infectiously happy vibe that ska (and a bit of funk!) provides.

All of this is performed with so much attitude and passion that no gig could ever be flat. This is why Geistfight blend so well with a wide variety of bands like local heroes and friends Darko (techy-hardcore punk) and Tree House Fire (smooth reggae/ska positive vibes)

In 2014, the first full year, Geistfight enjoyed a support slot on several dates of The JB Conspiracy tour and played multiple times with Faintest Idea, Tree House Fire and Darko. The band also shared the stage with The Peacocks, Dirty Revolution, Will Tun and the Wasters, Citizen Fish, The Karma Party, Drones and many other awesome acts. There was even a headlining performance at the Fleet Christmas Festival!

The Geistfight demo featuring "The Fine Line", "Counting Hours" and "Break Out" was recorded on a budget of £13 in friend Jake's garage and mixed by Brad Tyler for a bottle of rum. This has sold out several times, at which point guitarist Tom Adams goes and makes a handful more at home! The launch of the band has been truly DIY and where Geistfight goes from here is built on doing it as organically as possible.

"The Fine Line" and "Counting Hours" have both been used on widely circulated sampler albums, including the upcoming release of "Buried Treasure" by Ska Mutiny Records, previously featuring the likes of Random Hand.

Geistfight have released their first full single "The Fine Line" and a video to compliment this ska-punk banger of a track. With this release representing a true step up, it should be the perfect introduction to the E.P. recorded in October 2015 with Chris Edkins.

2015 has included stages shared with Imperial Leisure, Random Hand and an appearance at Undercover Festival with The Damned and XSLF.

We are all about live performance, so wherever or whenever you see Geistfight you can be assured of one thing: It's gonna be a Skacore/Punk party!
