Almost on a daily basis I am told by one Soundcloud user after another that my music is crap, that I have zero talent....what do you think? Are they right, or is it a case of sour grapes?

With so many people making music--literally tens of millions--there is a serious overcrowding problem, creating a wall of white noise; to stand out from that background, a musician must bring something very different to the table :)

Just "Takin' It Easy" while playing Breedlove Acoustic-Electric and decided to record Instrumental SongShot. Eagles-inspired insanity. ;-) For anyone that enjoys creating and sharing music, have fun and keep it real. Do your best, even when it's just sharing a simple contemporaneous mix of a song sketch or idea. Some will like it, some won't, so what? Next. Life is short. Be true to yourself. Nothing wrong with "promoting" certain projects and songs, but we all know Numbers are simply 'Just Numbers' and don't, necessarily, always define success on SoundCloud....or anywhere else, really. Boson Spin - Gradvaria

Herbie Hancock is one of my greatest musical inspirations, a giant of the 20th Century and still going strong.  This original composition Raindrops, is a look back at his playing in the mid '60s, when he was in his early 20s and playing and recording with the second legendary Miles Davis Quintet.  The ensemble was exploring modal jazz, pushing the boundaries of jazz harmony, taking things in and out of scales using chromatic dissonance, and setting the bar as high as it has ever been.  In this band, Herbie often used extended single note soloing, similar to Miles' trumpet or Wayne Shorter's tenor saxophone, creating a mood and image similar to Impressionism in art.

FORMULA THINKING AND BOUNDARIES PUT EXTREME LIMITATIONS ON THE CREATIVE PROCESS; TRUE ART CAN NOT BE PRODUCED WITHIN A RESTRICTED SPACE!

I DON'T BREAK DOWN BOUNDARIES, BECAUSE THERE WERE NO BOUNDARIES IN MY WORLD TO BEGIN WITH!

MUSIC MUST CONTINUE TO EVOLVE, AND THE ECLECTIC APPROACH IS NOW THE ONLY WAY FORWARD, BECAUSE INDIVIDUAL GENRES HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED!

CREATING WITHIN A SINGLE GENRE, THEREFORE, RESULTS IN REGURGITATION, REPETITION, AND MEDIOCRITY!

And way too much emphasis is placed on production value; actual creativity and diversity are taking a back seat! Inventive lyrics also rarely get the credit they deserve. This indifference to the talents that actually set musicians apart plays into the hands of a money-minded music industry, signing our own death warrants!

MY APPROACH HAS ALWAYS BEEN, LET WHATEVER WANTS TO COME OUT, COME OUT; NO PLAN, NO BOUNDARIES, NO FORMULA, AND ON THE FLY!
