c'è in giro da tempo una nuova 'musica assoluta', astratta, che sta fra la cosiddetta 'ambient music' e la 'drone music', nei pressi dei cosiddetti 'soundscape' o, meglio ancora, degli 'innerscape' .. a volte ha tratti più 'cameristici', o addirittura per strumento solista, a volte è più 'sinfonica' .. a volte usa solo sonorità 'sintetiche', a volte invece anche strumenti 'tradizionali' .. ha antecedenti illustri, sia nella cosiddetta musica 'classica', diciamo storica, sia nella 'popular music' e nel jazz .. a quella soprattutto io guardo

C_Ben es el proyecto, seudónimo, de Carlo Cuadro, fundador del sello independiente UnosQuantos originario de la Ciudad de México. Con una fuerte influencia del IDM y la electrónica experimental, tiende a combinar géneros que van desde lo más mainstream como la música house hasta estandartes de la síntesis como tangerine dream y Klaus schulze pasando por territorios del bass music y electrónica avant garde.

Earlier this year, the duo released their self-titled debut via Enmossed x Psychic Liberation. It is a must listen document that falls in the interzone between ambient, industrial, and tape music. About the mix: "For this mix, we intercalated tracks that we both selected without knowing what the other person was planning to include, which is very much a reflection of the collaboration that bad LSD trips turned out to be. Many of these artists/albums became part of the psychedelic landscape we inhabited during a time when we were forced to be homebound and in some ways, they bring about our individual approach to recording and the sonic sensibilities that inform our sound. "

Xenia Taniko
... is a performer, choreographer and drummer based in Berlin. Their works speculate about the limitations of human embodiment and play with the societal norms that are inscribed in the body. Taniko uses body, voice, sound, props and costume to create affective, visceral and intimate performance pieces. On stage they explore disintegration of form through physical intensity and are interested in the potential of affect and emotion as a motor for creating new forms of knowledge and embodiment. Taniko’s solo and collaborative pieces have been presented in theatres, galleries and festivals in Berlin, Europe and the USA. Their artistic practice is deeply influenced by cultures of collaboration and invests in building alternate creative communities. Mostly in dance and visual art contexts, they work with various international artists as performer and collaborator. They also host regular Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Community Classes and are an Audiodescriber for blind and visually impaired audiences.

Amplify Berlin is a residency program that provides emerging Berlin-based musicians with guidance, a focused work environment and access to resources in the form of month-long artist residencies driven by a mentorship approach to creative development.

Artists are invited to apply via an online open call process (occurring twice yearly) wherein they select which mentors they want to work with. The mentors then select from those applicants. During each one-month residency period, two selected artists receive feedback and advice from their mentor, are given access to a music studio with a range of equipment and software and are able to develop their live set in the ACUD Club’s concert space (both with the support of a technician). They are required to complete at least one track to be
shared online, contribute to a monthly radio show on Reboot.FM and at the end of the residency, they perform at a showcase event at ACUD Club, on a lineup alongside their mentor.

Mentors include:
Caterina Barbieri, Laurel Halo, Lucrecia Dalt, Robert Lippok, Ziúr, Born In Flamez, Ville Haimala of Amnesia Scanner, Andi Toma of Mouse on Mars, Drew McDowall of Coil/Psychic TV, Max Boss of Easter, Pan Daijing, Farao, Black Cracker, Sasha Perera, Andrea Belfi, Rabih Beaini.

Presented by ACUD Macht Neu, this program has been co-financed by the Europäischer Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) and Musicboard Berlin until 2021.
