Introducing Decca…

Also known as fin, a Bath born and bred DJ who has really made a name for himself around Bristol. Decca started out his career in late 2019 when he started out mixing in his bedroom. Back in 2020 during peak lockdown, Fin made his idea of starting up his own label into a reality and recruited the best up and coming producers and selectas to continue the journey with him. Backhand today is made up of 20 plus incredibly promising stars and there is no way of stopping the talented team as they adventure down exciting routes in the industry. Fin has had many appearances at some of the biggest venues around Bristol, Bath, Manchester, Brighton and more. Decca’s proudest achievements are his Lakota Residency as well as having played at Nass festival, on 2 stops of Hedex’s Tour and going on to play on the same stage as chase and status at Spring Break Amsterdam.

Decca is a jump up fanatic with a great passion for the sub genre and this is replicated in his mixes. Get ready for intensity, this is not one to be missed!

DJ XK - For those that don’t know I’m a 23 year old DNB Dj born in 99 in Kingston just south west of London been dj’ing for 3 years now. 8 months ago I decided to take the move out of home for the first time and move to Bristol to chase my dream of perusing music one day as a full time career and it’s been the best decision I ever made. 

I entered next hype a couple of times in previous years but haven’t recently due to focusing on really putting myself in the correct environments and bettering my craft and felt comfortable enough to showcase the improvement and journey through this mix and competition.

Next hype has always been one of my favourite events and movements as for me it captures why I love drum and bass so much. Big ups to Eksman and all the Next hype team, enjoy the mix!
