Desert Dwellers Live Set at EMC2 Festival 2025

Amani just returned from an unforgettable journey to Colours of Ostrava Festival in Czechia, where he played two immersive Liquid Bloom sets in one of the most unique festival settings on Earth, a reclaimed industrial park turned cultural wonderland with 45,000 participants. The vibrant energy was palpable across every stage, all nestled into the steel bones of the old factory, echoing with music from around the world.

Liquid Bloom Set @ Colours Festival (Czechia 2025)

Over The Moon features ENCOUNTERS in this episode. Encounters, from Bay Area based producer Tyler Hovestadt, is a downtempo electronic project blending ambient, downtempo, and live percussion that seeks to find balance between organic musicality and electronic exploration. In August 2022, Encounters released his debut "A Path Beyond" followed by "A Path Beyond Remixed" in 2023, and “Circuit Breaks” in 2024 with “Veil of Echoes”, his first full length album, scheduled for release near the end of 2025. Encounters has performed electronic music festivals in Europe and America including appearances at Astronox, Infrasound and Stilldream, as well as supporting renowned artists such as Carbon Based Lifeforms, Bluetech, Desert Dwellers and Kaya Project. This "The Other Side" studio mix: "is about transitions: the quiet spaces between chapters, between clarity and confusion. It’s where I’ve found myself lately, in the fog, in the drift, somewhere in between. This mix weaves together new remixes and unreleased music from my upcoming album, Veil of Echoes; pieces that have been slowly taking shape over time. I hope these sounds offer you space to feel, reflect, or just breathe for a while."

So honoured to share the live recording of my multi-genre morning dance journey from the Dinnawan stage at the epic @dragon-dreaming-festival, which includes (as always) my live vocal looping, yidaki/didjeridoo and percussion. 

As an attendee I experienced some profound transformations during this gathering of the tribes as I emerged into Spring from a deep and dark Winter season – and that energy is infused within this morning dance journey. Amritaji (Amrit Dhillon) has been spinning psychedelic worldbeat and bass music since 2007. Coming from her roots in psytrance, she has spent over a decade and a half playing at electronic music events, festivals and Ecstatic Dances around the world. Her unique style of weaving the traditional music of Eastern and indigenous cultures with electronic bass and dance music started with her love for sonic-induced states of trance after practicing traditional Sanskrit Kirtan when she was in high school. A lifelong musician, Amritaji is passionate about blending traditional and modern music, giving her audiences a distinct sonic experience of deep bass lines, Eastern melodies and uplifting grooves. Her passion is for creating dance journeys to offer a sonic space for healing, free and authentic expression, and fun! She across the US and internationally. She currently live in London and is pursuing her Masters of Music in Ethnomusicology at SOAS, University of London.

Amritaji founded Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee in 2016. Between 2018-2025, she was a resident DJ and DJ trainer at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City. She is also a DJ trainer with Dance The Medicine. Amritaji has had mixes featured on Shanti Planti and Street Ritual Records.

Amritaji has performed on lineups with artists such as Desert Dwellers, Kalya Scintilla, Govinda, Kaminanda, Whitebear, Random Rab, SaQi, AtYya, An-Ten-Nae, WHYT RBBT Dimond Saints, and the Jumpsuit Records family.
