So deeply honoured and grateful to be invited to come back to Koh Phangan and DJ for one of the best Ecstatic Dance floors in the world! 🔥

I actually started DJing while I lived on Koh Phangan 6 years ago, but I had just started and wasn't yet good enough or well-known enough to DJ at the Pyramid. 😇

But I would come and dance at the Pyramid Dance every Sunday and dream of the day that I would be behind the decks! And today is the day! 🙌🏻

“Embers of a Forgotten Prayer” unites Liquid Bloom, Bloomurian, and Mah Ze Tar in a spellbinding fusion of Middle Eastern mysticism, deep bass, and ceremonial sound design. Building on past collaborations, Liquid Bloom and Bloomurian’s synergy is further elevated by Mah Ze Tar’s mesmerizing artistry, weaving soulful Oud and Ney melodies with haunting vocals into a sonic invocation. Inspired by a Rumi poem, this track is more than music—it’s a flickering ember of divine remembrance, calling the listener to move, feel, and awaken.

Dubduk is Em9’s first foray into Reggae Dub—layering classic dub grooves with rich, atmospheric textures and live wind instruments. Centered around the expressive sound of the Armenian duduk, the track blends organic and electronic elements to create a deep, meditative vibe. 

Em9 is spearheaded by @joelloopez; a composer, sound designer and producer based in Barcelona. Dubduk marks another step in Em9’s evolution from solo producer to full band, continuing the project’s exploration of global sounds through modern production.

Aside from his project as Em9, Joel Loopez creates original music for media, including soundtracks for films and video games, melodies for advertising and arrangements for independent artists.

This is the live DJ mix from Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee's dance on Saturday, August 13th, 2016. This set was particularly special and potent as I was moved to play an unplanned set and channel what was needed purely in the moment. This was my first time playing a completely unplanned set for Ecstatic Dance and what an amazing experience it was! Amritaji (Amrit Dhillon) has been spinning psychedelic worldbeat and bass music since 2007. Coming from her roots in psytrance, she has spent over a decade and a half playing at electronic music events, festivals and Ecstatic Dances around the world. Her unique style of weaving the traditional music of Eastern and indigenous cultures with electronic bass and dance music started with her love for sonic-induced states of trance after practicing traditional Sanskrit Kirtan when she was in high school. A lifelong musician, Amritaji is passionate about blending traditional and modern music, giving her audiences a distinct sonic experience of deep bass lines, Eastern melodies and uplifting grooves. Her passion is for creating dance journeys to offer a sonic space for healing, free and authentic expression, and fun! She across the US and internationally. She is relocating to the UK in the autumn of 2025 to pursue her Masters of Music in Ethnomusicology at SOAS, University of London.

Amritaji founded Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee in 2016. Between 2018-2025, she was a resident DJ and DJ trainer at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City. She is also a DJ trainer with Dance The Medicine. Amritaji has had mixes featured on Shanti Planti and Street Ritual Records.

Amritaji has performed on lineups with artists such as Desert Dwellers, Kalya Scintilla, Govinda, Kaminanda, Whitebear, Random Rab, SaQi, AtYya, An-Ten-Nae, WHYT RBBT Dimond Saints, and the Jumpsuit Records family.
