is the prayer i channeled through my latest maMA bird curation, amplified live at the NYE weekend event TOGETHER @thedenportland 🦚 

first, i must name the horror, hardships, and heaviness in the world at large.

second, i must name gratitude. 
gratitude that does not downplay or  minimize the real life catastrophes & atrocities being experienced currently by many—both immediately & peripherally. 

while honoring beings affected by ongoings of the unfathomable,
i also choose to honor:

the frequency of GRATITUDE for 
feeling safe in my body, 
feeling safe in the land where i inhabit,
feeling safe 
in places where we gather together.

may we hone our prayer for the safety of all beings through the dance of gratitude. 

may we spread our toes and legs out like sturdy roots and feel the entangledness & support of relationship. 

may we lift our arms & reach our hands as extensions of the heart to add beauty & bring our gifts & services to the beings we encounter.

On the first New Moon of the year, on the divination number of 11/1 - a Portal was opened in Siargao Island. The first Untamed Cacao & Ecstatic Dance event of the year! 

Intentions were set, hearts warmed with nourishing cacao, sweat flowed like lava, tears were shed & our dances became our prayers. A cathartic release, a powerful reclamation, a communal un-taming, an ecstatic celebration. Together we envisioned our dreams of a more beautiful & free world, and realised ourselves as builders of the New Earth. The more free & liberated we become within the ecstatic dance space becomes the fertile seeds that ripple out to the world as we leave. What is your part of the greater vision? Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu.

We thank Victor, our Facilitator for igniting our inner child and leading us through embodiment exercises that got us out of our thinking minds and into playfulness & ease. To all of our Space Holders for keeping the space safe and sacred. Thank you to Leah & 'The Portal' for the perfect place for this event. 

I intentionally journeyed high, low and all around in this set, through many genres & styles - an ecstatic exploration of music and vibrations. The energies are up highhhhh which helped us shake away all that no longer served so that we could raise our frequency's and reach up towards our dreams! What an honor! Thank you Siargao Tribe for being wild, free and untamed. My heart is ablaze.

Amritaji (Amrit Dhillon) has been spinning psychedelic worldbeat and bass music since 2007. Coming from her roots in psytrance, she has spent over a decade and a half playing at electronic music events, festivals and Ecstatic Dances around the world. Her unique style of weaving the traditional music of Eastern and indigenous cultures with electronic bass and dance music started with her love for sonic-induced states of trance after practicing traditional Sanskrit Kirtan when she was in high school. A lifelong musician, Amritaji is passionate about blending traditional and modern music, giving her audiences a distinct sonic experience of deep bass lines, Eastern melodies and uplifting grooves. Her passion is for creating dance journeys to offer a sonic space for healing, free and authentic expression, and fun! She across the US and internationally. She currently live in London and is pursuing her Masters of Music in Ethnomusicology at SOAS, University of London.

Amritaji founded Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee in 2016. Between 2018-2025, she was a resident DJ and DJ trainer at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City. She is also a DJ trainer with Dance The Medicine. Amritaji has had mixes featured on Shanti Planti and Street Ritual Records.

Amritaji has performed on lineups with artists such as Desert Dwellers, Kalya Scintilla, Govinda, Kaminanda, Whitebear, Random Rab, SaQi, AtYya, An-Ten-Nae, WHYT RBBT Dimond Saints, and the Jumpsuit Records family.
