‘Waters Rising’ is a collaboration with vocalist Lola Empire and was originally written around a piano sketch that was sent back and forth between the two artists until it became the fully realised song you hear now.  

"I really hadn't expected love to be a theme in the album, but I was chatting with Lola and she told me how she'd fallen in love. I sent her the initial sketch for this and told her i didn't think love was an appropriate subject for it. but she came out with this. 
'love is dark' she said."

Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before. Things rolled along this way peacefully for about a month or more. 

The neighborhood appealed to me, particularly at night when the full squalor and lugubriousness of it made itself felt. The little place, so charming and tranquil at twilight, could assume the most dismal, sinister character when darkness came on. There was that long, high wall covering one side of the barracks against which there was always a couple embracing each other furtively-often in the rain. A depressing sight to see two lovers squeezed against a prison wall under a gloomy street light: as if they had been driven right to the last bounds. 

What went on inside the enclosure was also depressing. On a rainy day I used to stand by the window and look down on the activity below, quite as if it were something going on another planet. It seemed incomprehensible to me. Everything done according to schedule, but a schedule that must have been devised by a lunatic. There they were, floundering around in the mid, the bugles blowing, the horses charging-all within four walls. A sham battle. Only music can relax things a bit and can pleasure my soul. The new EP of Juliano Gomez was my paradise. Three amazing original tracks and two beauty remixes by the likes of Artimpakt &Veytik, Valtierra. This was my small, everlasting paradis

At the very hub of this wheel which is falling apart, is Beauty. And it will keep on rolling until everything that has gone to make up the wheel has disintegrated. It has already rolled over a goodly portion of the globe, over Persia and India and China, and like a magnet he has attached to itself microscopic particles from Kurd, Baluchistan, Timbuktu, Somaliland, Angkor, Tierra del Fuego. The odalisques it has studded with malachite and jasper, their flesh veiled with a thousand eyes, perfumed eyes dipped in the sperm of whales. Wherever a breeze stirs there are breasts as cool as jelly, white pigeons come to flutter and rut in the ice-blue veins of the Himalayas. The wallpaper with which the men of science have covered the world of reality is falling to tatters. The grand whorehouse which they have made of life requires no decoration; it is essential only that the drains function adequately. Beauty, that feline beauty which has us by the balls all around the world, is finished. To fathom the new reality it is first necessary to dismantle the drains, to lay open the gangrened ducts which compose the genito-urinary system that supplies the excreta of art.
