Hot as the summer in the city, our long awaited remix EP of Arutani’s «Wild Things» has finally arrived.

(Wild) waves of rhythms next to melodies of dreamy (things) go hand in hand on this journey. We’ve been gifted with 6 remixes from quite a stellar combination from a few of our favorite producers out there, colliding on a very unique way, and forming a whole new chapter in our label era.

Like a refreshing breeze on a hot summer day, this EP comes at just the right time.

Seit Gründung unseres Musik Blogs 2012 setzen wir den musikalischen Schwerpunkt auf Diversität. Das bedeutet, dass unser Programm, egal ob Premieren, Live-Sets oder Podcasts eine große, breite Mischung aus verschiedenen Subtypen der elektronischen Musik abdeckt. Sei es Downtempo, Midtempo, melancholisch, verträumt, melodisch und/oder tanzbar - alles ist im Grunde erlaubt.

Ziel jeder unserer Compilations ist es, dass jede*r Künstle*r einen Track gestaltet, den er/sie selber auf seiner/ihrer “Afterhour” spielen würde/n. Manche steuerten in der Vergangenheit eher langsamere, manche schnellere Tracks bei. Manche verträumte, manche druckvollere. Im Grunde ist jede Stimmung möglich, insofern dieser zu Afterhour Sounds passt. So auch dieses Mal...

Da die Compilation “for free” ist, können wir keinen Künstler monetär entlohnen. Wir verstehen uns von Anfang an (seit 2012) als Supporter der Szene und haben seit jeher verschiedene aufstrebende Künstler unterstützt und auch einen Teil zu ihrem Erfolg beigetragen. Dies bedeutet, wir haben und werden nie Geld für beispielsweise Premieren, Reposts etc. nehmen. Selbst auf eigene Spendenaufrufe während der Covid-Pandemie verzichten wir im ersten Jahr vollkommen. Ganz im Gegenteil. Wir selber unterstützen immer wieder angeschlagene Club- und Festivalbetreiber, sowie andere ehrenamtliche, sozial ausgerichtete NGO’s. 

Daher ist unsere neuste Compilation als “Free Download” mit freiwilliger Spende gedacht. Hierzu könnt ihr den unten aufgeführten PayPal Link benutzen. Das Geld soll zum einen für die Deckung der entstandenen Kosten (Betrieb und Mastering) eingesetzt werden, als auch zur Spende für das Projekt “Blind-Spots”, welches wir unter vielen aktuell als sehr unterstützungswürdig halten und während der Corona Pandemie vollkommen aus dem gesellschaftlichen Bewusstsein verschwunden ist.

Es freut uns wirklich sehr, dass wir auch dieses Mal eine Menge an tollen Künstlern für unser Projekt gewinnen konnten, die uns nicht nur mit ihrer Musik, sondern vor allem menschlich beeindrucken.

Three groove grandmasters take us on a ride down the backroads of the Odyssey that started recently with the same- named debut album of @hollynorth. Following their very own approach, each of them opens an entirely new chapter of this epic piece of dance music. Underher discovered a veritable source of beauty in the depths of the melancholy that resonates from the vocal of Far Away and channels it into his melodic dance sound. Arutani makes the title Epilogue sound like a sunrise watched from the edge of a wood, with wafting layers of morning mist and glistening pearls of dew in your eyes and the solid boom of an open air sound system in your back. Finally, Gome's Late Summer remix is heavily infused with the subtropical vibes of a certain Atlantic island, its playful funkiness and remarkably driving lounginess reminding us that it's time to kick off our flip flops at the poolside and to finally grab a first cocktail.

Holly North - Epilogue (Arutani Remix) [3000 Grad]

Having made a name for himself with a constant output of unique releases, Ber-nese artist Geplantes Nichtstun debuts on Heimlich with his „Illusion of Knowled-ge“ EP. Like a lonesome rider in the desert, the opening track „Schub“ combines dusty guitar sounds and detuned arpeggios, with subtle vocal snippets and orga-nic percussions adding a touch of saloon atmosphere. „Spagat“ is an aptly titled balancing  act  between  playful  lead  sounds  and  wind  players  adding  an  extra  layer to the arrangement. Led by the extraordinary vocals of Christine, building upon a foundation of powerful but clear drum sounds and a predominant bass-line  „Remember  Me“  is  an  energetic  banger.  Berlin-based  Santi  &  Tugce  trans-form „Schub“ into an emotional hymn by adding drum recordings as well as an arpeggio line as the center of attention, putting the original‘s guitar samples to creative use. Up-and-coming Überhaupt & Außerdem keep up the vibe of the ori-ginal in their interpretation of „Schub“ while replacing the bassline to add some extra power. „The Illusion of Knowledge“ is a diverse EP, leaving you with the sub-tle and strangely satisfying feeling that you might have heard everything there is you need to know for now.

We are back with some new music. This time our friend Katabtu has conjured up something that we do not want to withhold from you. After he was already represented on one of our compilations some years ago, it is now time to add some more juice. 

The result are two deep and dark tracks that fit perfectly into the colder season of the year. You can expect rolling baselines, powerful synthesizers and hypnotic arpeggiator sounds, which will catapult you into another dimension. Make sure to turn it up loud enough so that the full power of the lower frequencies can hit your stomach. In addition, there are elegant remixes by Manucho, Narcisse (Mex) and Anselmus, who is featured on our imprint for the first time.

The Vedas (/ˈveɪdəz, ˈviː-/; Sanskrit: वेदः vedaḥ, "knowledge") are a large body of religious texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism.
There are four Vedas: the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda. Each Veda has four subdivisions – the Samhitas (mantras and benedictions), the Aranyakas (text on rituals, ceremonies, sacrifices and symbolic-sacrifices), the Brahmanas (commentaries on rituals, ceremonies and sacrifices), and the Upanishads (texts discussing meditation, philosophy and spiritual knowledge). Some scholars add a fifth category – the Upasanas (worship). The texts of the Upanishads discuss ideas akin to the heterodox sramana-traditions.

Kicking off 2021, Nathan Hall’s Sattva EP provides three moody slow techno offerings, with Kusht, Manski and jiony on remix duties.  Nathan Hall focuses on the darker side of music, with texture and atmosphere being the main subject matter of the EP. Born from short bursts of inspiration in the greyed out winters of the Pacific Northwest all original mixes are laced with pensive,  apocalyptic vibes. Expect synth pads kissed by the 80s, melancholic lead parts that break through and underline hypnotic arrangements and subtle organic percussions. Kusht’s remix lifts up these organic parts, supported by additional guitar lines to create his own signature version of These Days while Manski’s energetic version is a gritty banger with a touch of Leftfield House. Contributing a stripped-down remix jiony is rounding out the EP as a whole by adding psychedelic elements to keep up the spirit of Nathan Hall’s Sattva EP for a proper start into 2021.
