After a short break we’re back with new music and happy to present you the EP “Yamantau” by Daniel Hokum. Daniel has made 3 tracks, which all have a very different character. Each song tells its part of a complete musical story that we fell in love with. Big bass meets a reduced speed which ends into a beautiful journey. Oh yeah, we like that!

By the way, the name "Yamantau '' refers to a mountain, which Kilian Van de Water served as a source of inspiration for the artwork. Therefore we would like to thank all the artists involved, including Haunted Water for the mastering.

We are happy to provide you with new music again. We will keep you updated with more to come in the future.

My name is Vincent Gericke, I am a musician from Düsseldorf, Germany. I have lived in Frankfurt, London and St. Petersburg but it seems that my hometown is the most inspiring environment for me. With a family enthusiastic about music and a father that played in a Jazz Band, I started playing the keyboard and piano from a very young age. As a kid it was my older brother who confronted me with electronic music and this was the beginning of my musical journey in front of sequencers.

I discovered a musical genre that was new to me but it evoked a feeling that I knew for a long time already. My search for something new went through experimental phases where I explored polyrhythms and unusual harmonies. Creating a feeling of belonging, homelike with a nostalgic touch that most people can relate to.

This is because I actually want to share my emotions with the people out there. Music is just the carrier and I hope that you will feel delighted and have a pleasant experience when you listen to my music. There is not much more about my music because each time I start a track with a clear mind. It is always connected to the unknown while I am guided by my senses and emotions.

Never allowed to leave the protection of her palace, Princess Zeppadella wished for more. All her life she was kept away from the harm and evil in the world, forever on the inside, looking out. At night she would sneak through the garden to hear the music and sounds of excitement in the distance. There she could dance and imagine unhindered, her only companion was a delicate Nightflower that would bloom every evening.

Like the Princess, it could only be free at night, alone, with no one to witness it’s beauty. Over the years, Princess Zeppadella grew older and the Nightflower kept blooming, together they lived a secret life only they controlled. One rainy evening, the Princess climbed out to the garden to find her nocturnal companion was not there, the Nightflower was closed. She tried to wake it up but it would not stir. When the Princess returned the next morning, she found her friend laying dried on the dirt.

Now she was alone. Through her tears she noticed, in the air and all around her, the wind was carrying the Nighflowers seeds. Princess Zeppadella saw them float over the palace walls and knew then, what she had to do. 
Everyone has a forgotten Princess inside them, what she secretly dreams of is as personal as how long she dances for.

Passionated by all sounds since child (always berlin in first ! kraftwerk , nitzer ebb...& also london or paris or US house & rap) 
I became a vinyles dj in 1992 in nature , forests, private parties. Educated by Dj Nerate (UK) from famous Spiral Tribe team, i'm  proud to have been a part of these first influences @ early times of techno movement in france with very small audience (but high quality^^^ones  at the beginning , playing house, hardhouse, techno, hard techno, trance , psytrance... sharing the sound in thailand koh phan gan (92 to 95) & goa beaches (92 to 97) , jungle or breakbeat, during 10 years
After a break of 20 years..I came back on the desks , that time on digital materials from summer 2022 & at 50 years old..(!!) 
I like to improvise with all the avalanche of new stuff that i hunt & receive  each day from some precious friends.
Downtempo or midtempo (even high tempo), house, slowhouse, deephouse, hip house, electronic , deep beats,psytrance or chillhouse & even sometimes with melodic or else .
My singularity is to play without headphones most of time (it guaranty for me the essence of the energy of improvisation..)
My eclectic knowledge & my singular way to mix make my personnality , groovy & Deep most of time.
