Driven by the desire to engage and express himself musically, KAYYAK moves around Zurich’s vivid nightlife with endless curiosity and excitement.
Institutions such as Club Zukunft and Kasheme have become vital foundations for many of Kay’s musical endeavours as a musician and DJ. Spaces that give him the creative freedom to plant the seeds of his dreams.

The majority of his time is dedicated to creating music. Mostly alone, but with regular visits from his friend and mentor Kalabrese and others.
Under the moniker “Arnau Obiols & KAYYAK” Kay also records songs with his Catalan brother-in-law.
 
Kay feels most at home to release his music with Kalabrese’s imprint “Rumpelmusig", as well as the Munich based label "Compost Records".
The debut LP “Make No Time” in collaboration with Kalabrese released in 2020 gained great popularity with A-side becoming a Rumpelhit.

From than on came the first "Arnau Obiols & KAYYAK” releases incl. Remixes by Kalabrese & MLiR on Compost Records, as well as guest appearances on Kalabrese’s Album "Let Love Rumpel Pt. II"

The newest songs "Dreaming Place", "Let Love Find Itself" & "Mönchhof Amour" came in summer on Rumpelmusig. Mönchhof Amour (ft. his wife Xenia), has become a song for the hearts in Zurich’s nightlife with crowds singing along the "Once i know i have to find my soul i’ll let you know"
chorus.

"Imagination" came to life after my first trip to Palermo, a city that left me spellbound and provided me with immense inspiration. It's filled with ancient and modern art, and the contrast between the two styles is truly fascinating – from statues, fountains, and ancient theaters to modern street art, some of which has gained international recognition. The gardens are beautiful, the culinary tradition is amazing, and the people are very hospitable. At the end of the trip, all I had to do was gather my inspirations and play with the contrasts between modern electronic beats and elements typical of Italian music: mandolins, piano, and operatic voices. The result is "Imagination," the third track of my album "Places."

Xande (IT) - Imagination

Xande wrote this track after visiting the famous archaeological site of Petra in Jordania. 
He describes the place as a sheer burst of colors. Together with its historic significance, visiting the place leaves one literally speechless. 
The track revolves around the anticipation you feel from the beginning of the journey until you reach the main square. Here the magic, in front of the "Khazneh" or "The Treasury," reaches its peak and is represented in the central part of the track. 
With its driving beat, this powerful song makes you feel like riding a camel through the desert.

What happens when two artists from completely different musical worlds meet across continents? The answer is provided by Cologne-based live act and DJ Dario Klein, along with ambient sound artist Riatsu from Mumbai.

The two musicians met in 2022 as part of an artist exchange organized by the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne and the Goethe-Institut Mumbai. Their musical journey led them from
live performances and collaborative studio sessions in India and Germany to the release of their debut Radler EP on vinyl.

The original tracks "Radler" and "Fading Light" capture the unforgettable moments of their collaboration in two danceable and driving tracks. The EP is rounded off by remixes from
Überhaupt & Außerdem from Berlin and Metatext from Hamburg.

The result: An EP that has grown in clubs and festivals and matured in the studio. A special thanks goes to the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne, which significantly supported and facilitated this project.
