Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event, held every Thursday, in Amsterdam. We are delighted to have partnered with Threads radio to create our first radio show. In every show, we will invite local and international acts to showcase their work. 

For our tenth we invited no other than one of the U.K LIVE acts according to the legend himself, Mr Carl Cox, we present you SAYTEK Live!

Over the past few years, UK artist, Saytek (aka Joseph Keevill) has carved himself a reputation as one of the electronic music scene's most innovative live acts thanks to his impressive improvised shows. Described by Cox as “Absolute Genius when it comes to live” a sentiment echoed by his fans and many across the industry due to his mastery of machines (including analog synths, sequencers and drum machines) combined with unique energy and an ear for melody. His sound is broad and genre-defying, taking listeners on a journey through underground house, acid & techno that is tough yet intricate and deep. 

To date, Saytek has released eight esteemed live albums, Live Jam tracks, EP's and 12” singles, on his Cubism imprint as well labels such as Awesome Soundwave, KMS, Trax, R&S, Superfreq, Liebe*Detail, Soma, Bedrock, fabric, My Favorite Robot Records, Wiggle and many more. His raw live recorded tracks have become the weapons of choice for the most respected DJs in the world across the spectrum of underground music. 

His busy tour schedule has seen him booked for peak-time live performances at some of the best parties and festivals around the world. Highlights include Awakenings, Creamfields, Resistance, Shoom , Space Ibiza (RIP), Printworks, Mysteryland, and fabric London. Saytek also performs regularly at the heart of Berlin’s underground scene with shows at Tresor, Watergate, Sisyphos’s Hammerhalle and last year he was invited to perform at the legendary Love Parade founder, Dr. Motte’s Birthday at Suicide Circus.

Whilst his Facebook live streams continue to rack up millions of views, along with winning much regular support in the media from the likes Mixmag (album of the month), DJ Mag (Nominated best live act) and more, in 2019 Saytek was voted as one of the top 20 live acts in Faze Magazine by the German public and also held his place in the top 50 Techno Artists again on Traxsource (2016-2019).

For our eleventh episode, we invited one of the most hard-working and talented French artists! We present you DolBy D!
Dolby D aka Mickael Davis started his career as a DJ in the 90s, playing in clubs in the South of France, and gradually started to produce is his tracks. His intense energy and production skills made him cross over on a variety of labels. To date, he signed more than 300 releases, of which more than 50 on vinyl, on over 120 labels: Ben Sims Theory label, Suara, Sleaze Rec, Naked Lunch, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Afu, Remain, his imprint Dolma Records to name a few...
He toured extensively around Europe, playing in top festivals and clubs, both as a live artist and as a Dj, delivering powerful sets made for the dancefloor! 
He collaborated with international acts as Alex Bau / Hans Bouffmyhre / A.mochi / Angy Kore / Axel Karakasi / Joey Beltram / Mark Broom / Klaudia Gawlas / Niereich / Steve Stoll / Todd Terry / Torsten Kanzler / Virgil Enzinger / Skober ..... and some of his tracks are playlisted and supported by international acts as Pan-Pot, Amelie Lens, Ben Sims, Thomas Schumacher. 
Although we are all experiencing an unprecedented event with this global lockdown, 2021 is already picturing to be a great year for Dolby D and Dolma Records, with five new vinyl releases on the way, several remixes and some tour dates planned!

Born in Mozambique, raised in Luxembourg, Carlos Fernandes aka Chich is part of the electronic music scene for more than 20 years, being one of the main Techno faces in Luxembourg, promoting events and djing worldwide since 1989, with memorable stops in clubs and festivals as Nature One, Tresor Berlin, Ava, Suicide Club, Op Art, L`Ostra Club, sharing the stage with international acts as Len Faki, The Advent, Freddy K, Truncate, Bas Mooy, Ritzi Lee, Dave Clarke, Damon Wild, among many more...

With countless releases under his belt in labels such as Naked Lunch, Ekho Port, TK Records, Subsounds, or on his own Modulhertz, Chich is a 4x4 Techno machine.

As far as he’s concerned, 2021 will be a great year for techno, with some big releases soon, Chich will carry on with his mission, keeping the underground alive!

For the 13th episode of the Amsterdam Techno Sessions we invited the STRGHT label honcho Thomas Hoffknecht!

 Thomas Hoffknecht is a DJ and producer based in Hamburg, Germany. Despite his European roots, you can clearly perceive the Detroit Techno influence on his productions and his powerful hybrid DJ sets! 

On his hybrid sets, he elegantly combines sequenced samples from the Pioneer Toraiz SP-16 with the most powerful beats using 4 CDJS, therefore creating unique and magical sets!
As a producer, he released on top labels like Drumcode, Micro.fon, Sleaze Records, OFF Recordings, DISTRICT4,  Codex Recordings, nonlinear systems and his Strght label and collaborated with artists as André Kronert , Alex Bau, Brian Sanhaji, Dj Emerson,  Jeroen Search, Mark Broom, Truncate, Thomas Schumacher to name a few…

This Tuesday, 06th of July 2021 marked the fourteenth episode and first anniversary of the @Amstechnosessions ❌❌❌ radio show on Threads Radio!!! 🥳🔥🔥🔥

For this special occasion, we invited an artist who paved the road to the global acceptance of Female DJ´s in the Techno scene.
We present to you the Combine Audio records label boss and Spanish techno queen Paula Cazenave! 🔥🔥🔥

Born in San Sebastian-Donostia (North of Spain) and Barcelona based since 2003, Paula has been walking her record case since the late 90s. Performing in the best venues and festivals in Spain, Europe and South America, with highlights in events like @Awakenings, DGTL, Brunch -In Barcelona, Dreambeach, AQUASELLA FEST and many more.
 
Since 2017, Paula is 100% focused on her Combine Audio record label, releasing works by Techno legends as Ben Sims, Ken Ishii, DJ Shufflemaster, Patrik Skoog, Gayle San alongside other established and emerging artists. 

Combine Audio has carved a niche for itself on the Spanish techno scene and has received the support of many artists worldwide. As she well says "This label is not for me, it is for everyone" and with it, she intends to support many national artists to keep the scene alive and make it grow.

Amsterdam Techno Sessions w/ Paula Cazenave (Threads*Bloemenmarkt) - 06-Jul-21

We are delighted to announce another pivotal female Techno artist that paved the road of global acceptance of Female DJ´s in the Techno scene.

Ladies and gentlemen, please hail the Chilean Techno queen, Daniela Haverbeck.

Follower of electronic sounds since she was a child, listening to musicians like Jean Michel Jarre and Kitaro and Dance/Pop artists like Corona, Technotronic and Bjork, she was immediately captured by raves and parties that were going on in Santiago at the end of the 90s. 

It was at these encounters where she fell identified with Techno and Hardcore. After some time being part of the scene as a raver, promoter and even improvising as a VJ, in 2001 she decided to buy vinyl’s and to learn the art of mixing records. Very soon she had her debut and from then she started to spin at small parties.

A few years after her interest in cold and potent rhythms drove her into Hard Techno. In 2004 she decided to go to the next step and started producing and in 2006 she released her first vinyl. Together with her music production came the first European tour which contemplated a few parties in Holland. This is how she got booked for festivals like Awakenings Festival, Aquasella Festival, Free Your Mind Festival, Eco Festival, Mysteryland, Defqon1 and Decibel Outdoor, to name a few… Parallel to his, she was already touring in all Latin America, promoting the Hard beats around the continent. In 2010 she chose Amsterdam as her home, so she moved definitely to Holland.

 Her Techno music work has been released (also under the names of Maria Savage and Rapunzel) (digital and 12") in labels like Mastertraxx, Naked Lunch, UTCH, Elektrax, Android Muziq, Tech Head, and many more... Her Hard Techno music can be found in Mental Torments Records, Cause Records, Audiocode, Cannibal Society, Mad Made, etc..    
                         
Her DJ sessions are distinguished by their dynamics. 
Mixing House, Psy Trance, Hard Techno, Industrial, Gabber: her different alias allow her to dive into diverse genres. She loves music, she loves diversity, and her DJ sets are proof of that.

For the twentieth-second episode of the Amsterdam Techno Sessions radio show, we invited another French raising Techno star, Hemissi!

Hemissi (Anouar Hemissi), was born in the south of France. 
Attracted by hip-hop, funk, techno and house, among other styles. 
He has always devoted most of his time to his passion for music. Inspired and influenced by Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Luke Slater and many more. 

It was in 2020 that his project began with labels like Anemone Recordings, where he took his first steps and since then released his music on respected labels like Symbolism (Ben Sims), Mord (Bas Mooy), Olympian (Developer), and Edit Select Records. 
Recently he released his first album on Jeff Mills’ legendary label, Axis Records.

So, get ready for two hours of proper Techno selected and mixed by our guest Hemissi and our host Marco Ramos.

Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event, held every Thursday, in Amsterdam. Every show we will invite local and international acts to showcase their work. Our 4th guest is the Portuguese living techno legend DJ Ze Mig L!

Dj Zé Mig L has probably been one of the most active and internationally known Portuguese techno producers during the last 20 years, who’s underground activities have been carrying his country’s name throughout all the corners of the world with releases in major labels as Kombination Research, Djax Up Beats, Naked Lunch, Riot Recordings, UKR Recordings, Kobayachi to name a few... 

Although known to many mainly by his countless productions, but it is as a DJ that his name and skills speak louder. He spins a very own blend of hard, straight, minimal (not the wimpy stuff), tribal, chicago, booty, wonky techno with a unique groove, with a very peculiar and personal style. The main essence behind his sets is funkness, bringing an unexplainable mood to his audience, whether it's with the strong and faster side, or with the funky "get yo rump' on tha dance floor" needed for everyone to give their body shakin'. With his unique take on Djing he gives birth to a full-on experience based on creating a travel through different sounds and shades of techno, yet seamlessly blending different styles like the getho with the minimal and the tribal, making it altogether an intensive experience by nature ("3 decker" alert). He could briefly be described as a very creative and improvising DJ who makes the essence of his sets come straight out of his heart (And what a twisted one!), having a very unique characteristic style of top quality mixing with considerable high speed (see the resemblance between him and the russian MIG plane?), but mainly its just jolly good fun checking the huge amount records he's able to pile after spinning a "simple" 1h set!!

In every show, we will invite local and international acts to showcase their work. Our fifth guest is one of Chicago´s favourite underground artists, Submerge. 

Orlando Solis aka Submerge is an American electronic music producer and DJ from Chicago, and son of successful musician Jose Luis Napoleon Solis. Orlando Solis is known for running the label, Impact Mechanics, and for his releases in imprints such as Mote Evolver, Ilegal Alien, Kombination Research, Naked Lunch, Codeworks Records, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, to name a few.

His countless successful releases landed him gigs in some of the world’s most renowned clubs and festivals namely Berlin’s Berghain, Spain’s Fabrik, Vienna’s Camera Club, Nature One and Def-Con 1 festival. After successfully touring Europe several times since 20, he has been in constant demand ever since. Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event, held every Thursday, in Amsterdam. We are delighted to have partnered with Threads radio to create our first radio show.

In every show, we will invite local and international acts to showcase their work. 
Our sixth guest is no other than Brooklyn´s favourite, Alexi Delano. For this one Alexi Delano recorded, especially for us, his set from his last live performance at the Teleport to Space event in Stockholm last September.

Alexi Delano dwells in the perfect balance between shiny minimalism and dark vivacious techno. With more than two decades on stage, he has been able to combine different roots and facets of the contemporary music scale. Born in Chile, raised in Sweden and later adopted by New York, Alexi became part of the Swedish wave of electronic music producers of the mid-’90s, alongside fellow Swedes such as Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, Jesper Dahlback and Joel Mull. 

Moving from Scandinavia to New York influenced him to combine the heavy compressed Swedish sound with the vibrancy of the creative music scene of Brooklyn. Throughout his time in the music industry, Alexi has been nominated for The Swedish Music Award “Pr3 Guld” an alternative to Swedish Grammy, produced six albums and released countless amount of records on established labels such as the historic SVEK imprint, Drumcode, Plus 8, Minus, Visionquest, Spectral Sound, Hybrid Productions, Get Physical and many more. 

With a production and DJ style swaying between house and techno, he is consistently able to re-invent himself with each new release. Now in 2020, Alexi finds himself between New York, Barcelona and Stockholm finalizing a string of projects including a new solo album, a second collaboration compilation; ‘The Art Of Collaboration 2.0’. Recently he re-launched his record label AD Limited with a brand new release “ We Are All Connected EP” in collaboration with the Brazilian Techno Maestro, Click Box. . In the end it´s all in a day’s work for Mr Delano. He‘s a man who seems to be made of music.

For our eighth and final episode of 2020, we invited no other than one of the U.K Techno Pioneers, Mr. Ben Long! 
@ ben_long_offcial_ is not only one half of UK Techno veterans, @spacedjz but has also been delivering a multitude of solo EPs and remixes not only for Bullet Dodge Records but also for the likes of Beard Man, @NLRec, @EPM.Music, and more recently GND Records.
Ben Long and Jamie Bissmire formed Space DJz in 1995 with their 1st musical outing - "On Manoeuvres In Uncharted Territories", this was released on the sub label of Creation Records called Infonet Recordings. The highlight of this EP was the seminal electro track Celestial Funk.
During the course of a 20-year career the @spacedjz/ have put out over 60 Ep’s, 2 full-length Album’s 3 mix Cd’s and over 40 remixe’s featuring on labels such as Novamute, Soma, BEK Audio, PercTrax, Kombination Research, Driving Force,  Beardman,  Phobiq, Sinewave and many many others.
As the first Techno partnership to ever DJ on 4 turntable’s and 2 mixers spawning many a copycat act they have taken their sound across the globe, very few countries have not witnessed the unique style, knowledge, and musical attitude that only Ben Long & Jamie Bissmrie can deliver behind the decks and on the dance floor. Touring Australia and Asia 9 times, South America, USA, Russia, Japan, New Zealand, and countless of the big Festivals and Raves across the European circuit.

For our ninth episode, we invited the Hydraulix head honcho and London´s favorite, D.A.V.E The Drummer! Hailing from London’s illegal warehouse party scene that exploded in the 90’s, DJ & producer D.A.V.E. The Drummer started the techno label Hydraulix in 1998 as an output for his own production ideas. The label intended to bridge the gap between the Acid Techno of his previous productions and a darker style of techno that D.A.V.E. was experimenting with in the studio. 

Hydraulix made some big waves in the Hard Techno scene throughout the 2000’s and is still going strong with many of the new releases hitting the top spots in the Beatport Hard Techno Charts. 

Tracks from Hydraulix have found their way into the playlists of some of the world’s top DJs as well as keeping a huge following of underground Techno DJs across the globe.

D.A.V.E’s recent music reflects a shift toward a darker stripped back techno sound and the label is still at the forefront of the techno scene winning respect from many DJs and taking on board fresh young artists as well as releasing tracks by seasoned Hydraulix regulars.

Still a hard-working DJ and Producer, D.A.V.E. is responsible for remixes and productions for many great techno labels over the years including Suara, Harthouse, Fine Audio, Noom, Reklusive, Respect, Naked Lunch, Phobiq, Elektrax, Techburst, Cluster, S.U.F. Routemaster, Smitten and of course Hydraulix, Apex and Mutate To Survive.
