Symfoni VI (midi simulation)

"Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord - Hosanna in the highest" is the text of the sublime, deeply moving Benedictus from Bruckner's symphonic Mass in F-Minor of 1868. Its main theme will be quoted a few years later in the Adagio of Symphony 2 of 1872. Franz Anton Krager conducts the Houston Symphony Chorus and the Moores School Symphony Orchestra. Thomas Allgén blev ofrivilligt en av huvudaktörerna i Catrine da Costa-fallet, en av efterkrigstidens största rättsskandaler. Tingsrätten friade Allgén för mord men skrev samtidigt in i domskälen att det var ställt utom allt rimligt tvivel att Allgén och den så kallade obducenten Teet Härm styckat da Costas kropp. De båda läkarna förlorade sina legitimationer och sin möjlighet till försörjning. Thomas Allgéns före detta fru kom att bli ett av processens huvudvittnen. De ord hon lade i munnen på den gemensamma dottern blev efterhand till en berättelse. Barnets berättelse utgjorde slutligen en stor del av bevisningen i fallet. Thomas Allgén har inte träffat sin dotter sedan 1985.

Anders Nilsson: REQUIEM

The third movement of my sixth symphony is an Adagio, in memory the many victims of the Covid-19 pandemic in Sweden. During the three weeks in May I wrote this movement, the death toll raised from 3000 to 4000.
