Our long-time friend, Lithuanian-based producer, Deep Shoq returns to SVNSET WAVES with a new six-track EP following 2020's release, Hypnosis. This release showcases the mellow, atmospheric, organic house-influenced side of Deep Shoq, as well as some shades of future garage. This time, we also hear Deep Shoq experiment with vocals for the first time. As always, Deep Shoq perfectly walks the narrow line of dance music and music to sit back and daydream to.

You Look Like A Picture Of You From Years Ago Mix - Woodie and Peelee

On May 25th 2024, to accompany the launch of his Arthur Russell book "Travels Over Feeling" Richard King put together an event at London's Barbican celebrating Arthur's life with an all star musical cast recreating and reimagining his music.

I was thrilled to be invited to play a DJ set in the foyer afterwards. I have been an Arthur Russell devotee for 30 years and decided to play an all Arthur Russell DJ set*. The atmosphere was very special with lots of love transmitting back and forth from the DJ booth to the dancefloor. I really felt a freedom to slowly build it up playing so many of my favourite AR tracks and it was one of my very favourite DJ gis of 2024 so far.


*Full disclosure - there was an additional 30 minutes finale of this set that didn't record where I played non Arthur Russell, disco / disco adjacent records.

Eight used to be my lucky number. This mix will be the eighth episode of my podcast Playlist Obstetrics, where give music recommendations around a certain theme.  I'm not a numerologist, or anything, but this mix felt significant. It was different from my others, which are more dance-centric. My focus was to journal how I was feeling through a mix. And right now, that's out of focus.

Hopefully SoundCloud never goes bankrupt, and this mix stays up forever.
