To teleport to 60's even faster, when Robert Moog was inventing Model D, I played MiniMoog, Moog Modular (and other synths by Arturia and Korg). Played my blue Fender Strat to signify the times, when Jimi Hendrix was grinding his teeth over his black one. Pushing flowers to the guns with Electronic and Psychedelic Rock is still needed. Imagined all thru my prism of future Deep Disco and Indie Dance vibe. Drums and all prod done in Ableton Live, mastering with IK Multimedia tools.

Comes The Day

It was my 50th birthday and I was meant to be having a day of fun and laughter, enjoying the company of friends and family. One guest, though, took it upon themselves to share personal tales of woe with one and all, a process which spanned the entire occasion, from uncomfortable beginning through to bitter end.  As a result, it is the recollection of that somewhat harrowing narrative that lingers, rather than  the memory of song and laughter I was kind of hoping for.  

At the time, the words of XTC's song “Snowman” came into my head, probably because I was wondering why this person was treating me with such cold, unfeeling insensitivity.  OK, hardly the true meaning of the original, but exactly how I felt about what had happened.  I haven't ever mentioned these feelings to anyone except my wife, preferring to lay them to rest by the now tried and trusted method of writing a song about it, and to also remind myself that, after all, it was just another day.

The music Arnold (you can see his other work at https://soundcloud.com/arnold-dawson-317816707 and a link to his band camp pagehttps://exit.sc/?url=https://arnolddawson.bandcamp.com/track/xtc-were-right)created here is out of this world, and interprets the meaning of the song with absolute perfection.  Everlasting thanks to him for helping me put that day to rest, so that it can at least now be remembered in the context of a brilliantly produced track.  He played, arranged and mixed the whole thing - all I had to do was add the vocal.  I had shedloads of fun doing that.

Amy Fear is . . . a homing-beacon for ghosts . . . a victory of love over nostalgia . . . a dream inside a machine . . . 

Amy Fear is a long distance musical love affair between three old friends living on three separate continents. Since forming in early 2012 the band have rarely met face to face, choosing to communicate by songs transmitted through the ether. Amy Fear’s music embraces eccentric electronica, fuzzed up garage rock and folky melancholia. With no presence in the material world Amy Fear doesn’t have to lift any heavy amps and is free to indulge every creative whim.
